Obama you can't personally attack.

That wasnt a personal attack. That was all policy and was 100% accurate, that didnt backfire at all. If he spouts to McSame in a debate, McCain has no comeback. Its all true. Not opinion, not bias, its all TRUE.

the only personal dig was quoting John McCain with the "you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig" thing.

It was funny though even if it's not about Palin.

McCain ally Mike Huckabee took Obama's side on the issue, saying he didn't think it was a swipe at Palin.

"It's an old expression, and I'm going to have to cut Obama some slack on that one. I do not think he was referring to Sarah Palin; he didn't reference her. If you take the two sound bites together, it may sound like it," he said on Fox's "Hannity and Colmes."

Oh Mike how I miss your honestly in this election.

There is no lipstick gate; that pig line is a john mccain quite from last year when he said that about hillary clinton, so if he tries to call out obama, hes asking for trouble.

Yeah I know; McCain has demanded an apology for remarks "offensive" to Sarah Palin...wait for Obamas people to enlighten mccain that it is a quote by himself...

Palin has done something truly remarkable. Bitches are usually my favorite type of people. I've gone from being "she might be nice, but she's totally unqualified" to "I don't see the appeal" to now hating her with a feverish passion. Seriously, this woman is wicked. She's completely transparent. But, like, somehow, for some reason, everyone is buying into it.
Even for someone like Bush, who's personality never appealed to me, I could understand WHY it would appeal to others. I just don't see it in Palin. She's evil.

Wow. That Biden comment is insane. Hhm. He really needs to stick to rehearsed speeches and not deviate from them. He's speaks to Frankly. That's an admirable quality to be sure but not when you are in a presidential race.

I can see how that's a devastating comment taken out of context, but within the speech and Biden's informal manner of speaking, it's just his self-deprecating sense of humility coming about.

I don't think it hurts him though, it's just a silly thing. It's not like he insulted Hillary. The benefit of it to the McCain campaign is just that it gives them something else pointless to talk about instead of the issues - their goal is to run out the clock and run on personality, not anything that matters.

By the way, Chuck Todd the political director for MSNBC who is generally seen as smart and unbiased, said that due to widespread early voting, however the race is on October 15th will be how it turns out.

Obama was on Letterman tonight, will air in a few hours. He says Palin is the lipstick and McCain's policies are the pig.

He was very probably simply asked about it and answered. And as long as the media is propagating these distractions, I think Obama has a responsibility to correct them, since the media isn't going to do it for him. It's a tough corner to be in, but it's not one he can do a whole lot about.

I think it's unbelievably ridiculous how this race has turned into Palin Vs. Obama.

Are people really this stupid?

It's what the Republican Party (those involved in picking Palin) wanted. The media won't get away from talking about those two now, and with just, what, 8 weeks? until election day it's going to be almost impossible to get the focus back on Obama vs McCain.

Obama needs to simply ignore anything and everything about Palin. If he's asked a question regarding her, all he needs to say if he isn't running against Palin (or give a very simple response), and his focus is McCain.

I've had a slight change of heart in that I think if he was going to pick Biden, he might as well have picked Hillary instead. The big problem with Hillary (not counting things like, her whole personality) was that she was an insider. But you can't get much more insider than Biden. Both of them reduce Obama's change message so might as well go with the one that unifies the party.

Boooooooo! I <3 Hillary's personality! :funny:

Not to worry, I give it three more weeks of Rep smear campaigns and supporting pre-eminent strike before you come a full 180 degrees around. You've already made some progress. :P

BTW guys. I'm taking bets on the fact that Obama and Hillary already have a backroom deal that she will be Secretary of State. He needs her supporters and she wouldn't play second fiddle to him in VP role.

Oh good grief, the polls go bad for a week or so and everyone panics.

I give Obama credit that he hasn't panicked too.

Palin's approval ratings have dropped tremendously and continue to fall, the economy is tanking and McCain thinks things are just fine, and the latest polls show it dead even again, just like it was before Palin was nominated. Obama raised more money than anyone last month and continued to raise more than McCain even with Palin added to the ticket.

Keep your money on Obama. It's not going to be easy, but no one should be panicking now.

I didn't know where to put this, but I am finding that there is still some bitter sentiments out there despite Hillary's call for unity.

So, here is another request in her own words:

Quote:
Dear [insert Hillary supporter's name here],
I got my start in politics the old-fashioned way, knocking on doors 35 years ago in Texas and talking to people about a candidate I believed in.
And I will never forget the people in my campaign who got on a plane, hopped in a car or got on a campaign bus so they could knock on doors and talk to voters, and ask them for their vote. It was a special thing you did for me and it made an incredible difference.
I know you all worked your hearts out and now I am asking you to do that once again to help elect Barack Obama, Joe Biden and to expand our Democratic majorities. That is why at HillPAC we are launching Hillary Sent Me! -- a grassroots program for you where you can hit the road each weekend to knock on doors and talk to voters.
Tell them Hillary sent you and let everyone know we need change and that change begins by electing Barack Obama President and creating a filibuster-proof majority in Congress. As we read the headlines about our troubled economy, the stakes of this election only get higher and that is why we don't have a minute to lose.
I want as many of my strong supporters as we can send out going to battleground states and urging voters to choose Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Democratic majorities in Congress this November.
Sign up today to join our "Hillary Sent Me!" program to reach out to voters in battleground states.
I don't have to tell you what's at stake, because you've been involved in this fight from the very beginning. Now is the time for us to put everything we can into winning. We can't let John McCain keep us moving down the path that George W. Bush has set.
America is depending on us, on our leadership. Every door we knock on, every voter we speak to, can make the difference in this election.
So let's hit the road and talk to every voter we can between now and November 4.
Sign up now and help deliver a big victory for Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Democrats on November 4.
Throughout the campaign, I depended on your support time and again. Now America is counting on you to keep working, to keep fighting.
Everything we believe in is at stake in this race. I want to thank you for all your hard work. And when you knock on those doors, you can tell them that Hillary sent you.
Sincerely,

Hillary
