Re: Why Didn't Obama Pick Hillary?
Hilary would have won Ohio and Arkansas and held Michigan.
She would have not won Iowa and likely lose New Hampshire or either Wisconsin or Minnesota.
However she would still win with Ohio being worth so much.

Last time I checked that wasn't a rule for being VP. He said those rules, not the rules.

I meant to say McCain and Obama are playing by different rules, as illustrated perfectly in their VP selections.

Odd, I think their respective VP selections were actually made while playing by the same rules. Each picked a VP that would consolidate one of the primary positions that is still partisan in this election. Each picked a VP that they thought would mobilize their respective party members and their election cry. The war and abortion (aka 'family values'). When viewed in that light, they were playing exactly the same game.

Re: Why Didn't Obama Pick Hillary?
As a Clinton supporter, part of me was upset with her not being the VP but even before he chose Biden, it was obvious that a Obama/Clinton ticket would have not worked. Clinton is not a supporting character, I think the republicans would have extracted a lot of their attacks on Clinton's personality compared to Obama's. Also, because of the primaries, if Clinton was chosen, the republicans already had great material to work with to embarrass them. Biden was a good choice for Obama, so I am fine with that... though I am still unsure of Obama.

No it was a republican lead (slightly) before Palin came in and with republicans all energized its now out of reach. I think Republican should focus more on Colorado and New Mexico and Nevada.

anyone suggesting 2 weeks ago McCain will lead Obama was laughable... McCain leading was not seen by anyone at all, even die hard republicans. Its not a good sign...

Yes it was...his poll bounce was expected all along, why do you think obama supporters are freaking out? Again, a poll today already showed obama back on top. McCain will drop on his own.

Re: Why Didn't Obama Pick Hillary?
Oh It was beacuse on Yahoo he went from being behind 2 points to being ahead 3 points. They take an average which is the better measure. However, Polls are really random sometimes.
The thing is that, Obama had one chance to break out and its been eliminated by Palin.
It will be a close one!!!

Re: Why Didn't Obama Pick Hillary?
true however the convention looked like a failure due to gustav.
Things looked bored and then Plain comes in and they were going nuts.
I was shocked, I mean surprised at the amount of excitement during Palin's and McCain speech...
When I saw that, I knew the winds have just shifted.....

in reguard to the pig comment, Obama was QUOTING John McCain from 1995. McCains comment was about then first lady HILLARY CLINTON.

I was happy he got his bounce (better than not getting one) but I have long argued that this will be a horse race. In fact, I made fun of the McCain's transparent play of the expectations game by saying that Obama's bounce would be 15%.

I'm sure his audience knew that when he said it, right? Of course they didn't. The general audience there laughed at the comment thinking it was about Palin and that's how the Right is going to spin it and it will play well with that crowd and maybe even those on the fence. I chalk this up as another gaff for Obama and his muslim religion...
