As to what Newt said, the republicans don't get it. It was McCain who made a big deal out of experience, holding him accountable for having a running mate with experience makes logical sense. He looks like a hypocrite picking someone with little experience. It's about being true to what you claim you believe. People aren't stupid, they will notice that even if Obama doesn't point it out.

It's true if you discount 11 years in elected office, including the US Senate and Illinois State Legislature. Palin's been governor for less than 2 years.

I personally was concerned about Obama's lack of experience early this year. I don't think he's totally lacking but I felt like he didn't quite have enough. But he has run what republican Scarborough said the other day was one of the most well run campaigns in decades that has revolutionized politics, and he didn't mean because of race but the good managing of things. Running a campaign of that size is a huge executive job and he has by all accounts done a fantastic job.

When Obama was head of the Harvard Law review, Palin was coasting through state university, dreaming of being an espn anchor. They aren't very similar.

One of the things he did in Illinois was help expand health care to 150,000 people in the state by sponsoring and getting passed the KidCare program. He also sponsored death penalty reform in Illinois that required video-taping of homicide interrogations, part of a larger bill that eventually passed.
