It's not really about not knowing when the "Under God" part is added. I agree that is a matter of trivia. But the bigger issue is she didn't know The Pledge of Allegiance itself was only drafted more than 100 years after The Declaration of Independence. Some history matters not. Big Brother invented airplanes.

Yeah well most people think the star spangled banner(instead of being a poem sung to a drinking theme) was written after the declaration of independence or that the stars and stripes flag is the only us flag that is allowed to be flown and don't know anything about the civil flag.

She has it, but I would think it would be with much less enthusiasm amongst the mainstream populace (relatively, of course) of the christian right. They'll still vote for McCain if they vote, but with waning enthusiasm, those votes will be fewer.

Either way, I still don't see any real issue with the Under God portion, but really wouldn't fight over taking it out, makes no difference to me.

Re: Predict McCain's VP Choice Has anyone looked into Palin's church and the sermons her pastor has given? Remember, according to Republicans, every opinion the pastor says is automatically shared by Palin unless she immediately walked out the door upon hearing something she disagreed with.
Given her church and her world view, I'll bet there are some real doozies waiting to be uncovered.

I think Kerry put it best. There's Senator McCain, a basically good guy and sometimes maverick. And then there's Candidate McCain, who is basically a douche bag. I miss Senator McCain.
