The early Republican response to "Palin has no experience"....

"She gave birth to FIVE children. What's more experience than that?"
brought to you by Texas Senator Kay Hutchinson

She is an awful choice, she also is under a huge cloud of an investigation because she helped her brother in law out a legal trouble. I don't think she brings anything for Mccain. Romney still makes more sense.

You can't know what it is like to be a woman in this male dominated world and have to suffer through the birthing process.

Im liking this choice, its going to be very interesting to see how Biden goes after her, i have to say, McCain is a clever sneaky mofo, this will be either the dumbest or smartest move ever, there should be some very interesting debates, 2008 elections are def a change of pace.

Palin is pretty popular with the conservative wing of the party and seems to go with McCain's traditional image as a government reformer.

I still say it is a very poor choice, mainly because of the investigation she is under and that she is a complete unknown. Just because she is a woman doesn't mean anything.

Well, this does screw over Obama in one respect, which is the vice presidential debate since Palin is apparently at her weakest while debating, which will ultimately just make Biden look like a jerk.

if Mccain died though Palin would be in a horrible position. She has no experience.

What executive experience does Joe Biden have that could even compare to Sarah Palin's low amount of executive expirence ? Obviously she has no foreign policy experience and I will give that too Biden in spades, but she has as much expirence in it as Bush or Clinton, the past two presidents.

Don't cite Bush as a precedent. Ever.

Because Obama just has ton.

I've said this whole election that experience was overrated. Bush has tons of experience. Look how that turned out.

As for the pick, i've done some reading about her. I like a lot of her policies and stances.

I was listening to NPR this morning and one of the hosts had mentioned how her wiki site had it mentioned that she was the VP choice but that the note was taken down shortly thereafter this morning. Of course, that was before the choice was given out officially.

As to her, I think it's a good choice in that she's a Governor, she's a woman, she fits in with "conservatives" and she isn't a mormon (just speaking the truth).

I just saw a picture of her and she's very youthful!

Shes not gonna hep with the economy, shes not gonna help with indepdents, she wont help with anything except the conservative base that woulda gone for him anyway. How women percieve this depends on if they can see through it or not.

Post Re: Predict McCain's VP Choice
I think it's a GREAT choice.

Palin single handedly got rid of all the corruption in the Alaska government, she's a stand up lady, and fits very well with what McCain stands for.

She's VERY pro-life, which I find myself leaning more to by the day (though I still am fairly on the fence). The downside is that she is against gay marriage, but I suppose it's expected for a Republican. Still, despite being against gay marriage, she did the following:

Quote:
Palin's first veto was used to block legislation that would have barred the state from granting benefits to the partners of gay state employees. In effect, her veto granted State of Alaska benefits to same-sex couples. The veto occurred after Palin consulted with Alaska's attorney general on the constitutionality of the legislation.

I honestly don't think McCain could have picked a better running mate.

well at the very least Mccain can't be saying oh Obama doesn't have any etc now. Also there is the state trooper scandal that could still come out and haunt her. If it was true that she tried to have her former brother-in-law fired she would have to resign from governor and the nomination.

As for all the brother-in-law hoopla, it sounds like much ado about nothing.

First of all: "In 2006, before Palin was governor, Wooten was briefly suspended for ten days for threatening to kill McCann's (and Palin's) father, tasering his 11-year-old stepson, and violating game laws."

That is the brother-in-law. Sounds like a swell guy. Apparently they don't fire cops in Alaska for tasering their step kids. On top of that, everything I've read says there is no connection whatsoever to her linked to his dismissal and that she has fully cooperated with the investigation.

I still suspect she had something to do with it. Why would a staffer do it for no reason? It is also an abuse of power don't matter what kind of guy her brother-in-law is. And if it is true she just lied about it.

Sorry :(

I don't really have a position on the issue, though when I took a child development class this past year we went in detail over what a child learns while in the womb. The things going on in the development of a baby after the first trimester, I just don't see how that should be legal at all.

Within the first trimester ... that's where I'm on the fence.

Oh I also heard she used to support that Anti-Semite Pat Buchanan. I don't think that helps her any.
