I would probably be the happiest person if he picked her. Obama/Kennedy does sound so amazing.

I was hearing buzz about Evan Byah. I see Obama just can't stop including Clintonistas in his circle of friends. This senator, btw I don't expect him to choose a senator, continues to support the endlessness in Iraq, the reauthorization of the Patriot act, the continued funding of the extravaganza and he's creating war drums for action against Iran. Obama might as well be choosing senator Lieberman.

He made a statement today that the person has experience about the economy which I guess rules Biden out. I don't know who that could be other than maybe Sebelius?

I think Biden probably would have been the best choice for several reasons. Not just that he has foreign policy cred but also he's pretty aggressive and would tear into McCain.

Richardson or Kaine? Richardson could work since he has economic and foreign policy experience. Biden's problem would have been he opens up his mouth too much.

Kaine wouldn't be a good choice, in my opinion. He's no guarantee to win Virginia for Obama. I read his approval rating is just 50% in the state, while former Gov. Warner is 65% or so (can't get too much higher). And Kaine is a bit too much like Obama I think. If he wants to win Virginia, he'd be better off going with Warner.

He said it's someone not driven by ego and someone not looking to use it as a stepping stone for running later themselves. That rules out Hillary.

McCain seems to have chosen Romney. That'll help in VA and NC.

honestly, pretty awful pick. He can't swing Texas and if you look at how the polls are trending, Obama needs to get someone who can steal him a state.

Anyone named "Edwards" right now is a bad pick. Some people will surely get him confused with John Edwards

I don't know much about him other than that he is labeled as a moderate DEM. I don't think he hurts Obama in any way and he shores him up in foreign/military policy and he actually sounds like a guy that meets Obama's 3 criteria for a Vice President, i.e., that he has a policy choices that are often different from his own. Probably a net plus.

On August 22nd, KMBC News of Kansas City spotted bumper stickers of an Obama / Bayh '08 ticket that were being printed in Lenexa, Kansas. Three sources close to a local printing plant reported that such material was being produced.

Evan Bayh is a much better pick than Kaine would have been. If true.

I don't think he can help all that much outside of Indiana (guarantees IN for Obama, he's the most popular Democrat in the states history, approval ratings above 75% in an overall conservative state, and over 50% on every single issue, is huge) though. And he did co-sponsor, along with McCain and 16 others, Lieberman's Iraq War Resolution. Other notable names of those 16 were John Edwards and Warner. And Bayh has worked alot with McCain and Lieberman in the past, not that that should be considered bad though.

Overall, if it's true, I think Bayh is a very solid pick. Though some of Obama's far left supporters may find Bayh too conservative. He's very much a conservative Democrat.

In an email to Obama supporters in the Greensboro, North Carolina, area, a marketing email includes this line: "*Obama-Biden campaign items will be posted on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008."

Also, if that is the pick, this is interesting:

The McCain camp is "predicting" a VP & convention bounce of 15 points for Obama.

Pretty sly little move. I predict that McCain will get a 65 point bounce at the Repub convention. I sure hope he meets expectations.

Biden really impressed me during the campaign with his Foreign experience and other ideas he had. If this did happen it would make it even more difficult on who I will vote for.
