Bolt is just laughable. No wonder Jamaica boycotts the caribbean Anti Doping Pact. If he would be tested in Germany he wouldn't beat the 20 seconds. I'm surprised he hasn't exploded yet from all the doping

What proof do you have that he's doping?

Box wrote: What proof do you have that he's doping? His times are not possible without drugs. Jamaica refuses to join international doping pacts, if they are tested they're tested by their own guys which is laughable. If the IOC wouldn't chicken out from proposed anti-doping fights, he wouldn't even be allowed to start at the olympics. Everyone knows that there is more doping than ever because they developed new stuff that helps more than EPO, steroids or anything that was done before and isn't even detectable. The guys that get caught are only easter european countries who still use the old doping tricks. Ask anyone who knows anything about doping and they will tell you it's not possible what is done here. Are you honestly saying even the US guys are training less than Bolt? Noone is talented enough to come to the arena, stretch a bit, go to the start and beat a world record. Everyone who thinks he is clean is delusional. Not guily unless proven my ass.

Re: Official Summer Olympics 2008 Thread
Here a few fun facts: - Jamaica has no national anti-doping agency - The US doesn't protest because they always train in Jamaica where they too won't be tested - In the 100 Meter final were only sprinters from countries with sporadic or no doping controls (and yes, that includes the US) - A crownwitness in the BALCO process said no clean runner will be in the 100-meter-final. The difference between 10.0 and 9.7 are the drugs - The controls during the Olympics are a joke. They regularly catch people in the training phase who, two weeks later after the race are tested clean - And here is my favourite: Since January german shut-putter Nadine Kleinert was tested 29 times during training. If you take the complete Jamaican track & field team together they were tested 6 times.
WHAT A JOKE

How can you disregard natural selection? Humans are getting stronger, faster and smarter.

How can you disregard natural selection? Humans are getting stronger, faster and smarter. Such human evolution would take several generations before any meaningful difference could be noticed, so you're wrong. And besides, natural selection is pretty much meaningless when discussing the state of humanity at present. Natural selection is the law of the jungle, the fittest survive while the less fit get eaten or don't catch their prey. Humans have been so successful that nearly every single human survives. We even have the capabilities to keep Terry Schiavo-esque people alive; every wild animal in the same kind of state would be dead on the spot. I'd argue that sexual selection is by far the biggest contributor to current human evolution. With regards to the doping issue, I think Levy is going very much overboard. There really is no evidence that Usain is doping. And even if he is I don't care very much. The point about the 100m race (or the 200m for that matter) is to find out how fast the fastest human can run. What's the difference between increasingly better shoes that have less and less friction and therefore improve running times and drugs that do the same? I don't see much difference. They're both the products of the human intellect that are intended to improve the athletes' performance. What's the difference between the new Speedo suit, which was designed with help from NASA and took several years to build, and drugs that help you swim faster? Not much IMO.

Wow, 2 people disqualified in the same race (the Men's 200m). Two guys were stripped of Silver and Bronze, and they were given to the 4th and 5th place finishers! Ha.
Peace, Mike

Peace, Mike Crazy! Did you see the American guy (who came 2nd but then DSQ) after the race. He was running around like a kid in a candy store all happy and celebrating. Noone had the heart to tell him for a good 10 mins. The looks on his face when he found out was priceless. Personally I dont think he deserved to be DSQ though.

And the track at beijing is also supposedly made to help with speed/break records; but who knows if that too is a cover for the drugs.

I found this chart about 100m world records since 1910; it seems pretty stable. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Worl ... 0m_men.png
