Tonight's was an okay episode, thankfully they toned down the super crap and just left us with mild crap. There weren't any real stand outs in the awful category. That Neil Diamond obsessed guy had some crazy look in his eyes though, that was creepy. That first girl Mikalah, no way in hell she was 16. Maybe in Saturn years or something, she was looking rough - and singing just as rough, I still don't understand how she got through. That psychic lady was also pretty weird, and looked like Diana Degarmo from some other dimension. Onto the great:......Onto the good.

The last two to sing, Jennifer and Mario I thought they had good voices and based on their voice alone they should make it top the top 24, but if I were a betting man: Mario will be seen in this competition much longer than Jennifer.

The judges need to get funnier in Cleveland because very little they have sad has made me laugh and their comments (mostly Simon) is what got me into the show in 2002

There's only so many Seasons and so many times you can sit and watch Simon Cowell insult someone on their singing ability, that it grows stale and overdone after awhile.. I mean, when you sit back and look at the BIG PICTURE here: Some of these singers that are that Horrendous, has to be fixed and put in there to sell the show.. A person can't possibly be in that much denial and think in the back of their minds that they can sing as bad as what some of these people have sounded..

You would think so, eh? Unfortunately I think a "special" few of them have just that amount of delusion. But as Simon et al point out some of the bad people are just idiots who are willing to do anything to get on television, it's those people I can't stand - it's the people that actually believe they are good that scare me and when I'm at my most heartless make me laugh.

I think next week they go to Cleveland and ... Anchorage. I'm not sure about that one - but I know Anchorage is one of the cities on the audition list. Then I think we get the hollywood episodes (which are always among my favourites) and then actual voting commences.

That pixie girl was very cute, the one that sang to Simon. I hope she goes far.

some good people tonight.. I enjoyed the people who were advanced (for the most part). I still dont like that 'other twin' who came back. Put your damn arm down, and open your eyes while you sing, thats why they say you're selling it too much.

best comment: Kenny Loggins "You just ruined (sic) to careers at once.. I think thats a first"

I didn't see anybody that was terribly exciting. I thought the Vegas showgirl with the "Me" shirt was pretty. Her voice was weak, but I wouldn't complain if she stuck around for a while.

That hyper pixie girl was borderline annoying. 30 seconds of her went a long way.

So much for all heavy set black women knowing how to sing.

If I'm being honest, from what I've seen so far, this season is going to be the season of borderline ugly/odd looking white males.

Wardrobe and makeup better get ready.

What's the fascination with ugly white men?

Quit Paula, Quit! Leave and don't think twice about it. American Idol will survive - somehow. I hate it when Paula gets all dramatic like that over the stupidest little things, that guy wasn't even that good. He shouldn't have been allowed to make it through, and since the three judges have a couple more rounds to cut people I don't see him making it far in the competition.

The people in Cleveland were really pretty bad, with a few exceptions. I did like the girl who sang the overture from Phantom of the Opera, I didn't expect that out of her. Doesn't have a chance in hell of winning the thing, but I want to hear her do more things. The Farmguy also had a good voice and I'll be interested to see how far he progresses in the competition.

In Orlando, the kickboxing girl impressed me and I think she is one of my favourites, in a season where I don't have many. Also vaulting into favourite status is the guy with the sad 'never gonna speak again' story. I can really see him going far this year.

LL was almost as incoherent as Paula. Someone was singing like she had a secret? Seriously.

Yeah, I have a feeling the farm guy might be the next JPL. The opera girl was good too, although she should tone down her style a bit.

I still think the people to beat this year (at least from what we've seen) were the lsat two people we saw on last week's show: the homemaker lady with the soulfull pipes, and that guy who sounds like Corey Clark had he not been castrated.

There does certainly look to be a glut of freaky white kids on the show this year.

I didn't really like Jethro Clampett (the farmboy), I thought he sounded odd. The other heavy set white guy looked like a dead ringer for Will Sasso in Drop Dead Gorgeous, but did sound decent. And the Clay Aiken wannabe seemed kinda boring to me - been there, done that.

Other random thoughts:

The goth girl with the opera voice was very unique. It seemed all wrong, but somehow worked.

I don't know why they show people like the mime. I really don't like the gimmicky people just looking to get on TV.

LL Cool J loved everyone and hugged everyone. Yuck!

The mime was cute when she pointed at LL for the mouth the mouth, I'm with her on that one.

This year's auditions are boring, really boring. During the first season I only watched the auditions and nothing else, and they were hysterical. I did not watch season 2, and I watched all of season 3.

Please bring on Hollywood, Hollywodd was some of the best episodes from last year....I think they need to cut down the number of audtion shows and spend more time in Hollywood. There were less audtion shows in season 1, and it led to better editing.

I still remember the girl from season 1 who sang Fallin' and SImon told her not at signel note was right and she responded, "I wasn;t trying to get them right." It was classic.

It's odd that the girl with the hunchback didn't get through yet the pig faced guy did.

Both were equally offensive in terms of looks.

It seems it's easier to be an ugly guy on Idol than to be an ugly girl.

Poor LL hugging all those mutants. I would have to burn my arms off.

Rod Stewart is proof you can be ugly and successful as a male artist...and he got to fuck Rachel Hunter, its just all kinds of wrong.

LL.. - very cool. I liked his decisions & demeanor for the most part.

Farmboy (overalls) - not good enough.. ugh.

Papa dont love me boy - great voice.. but god they have a makeover (for american idol) on their hands

clay redux - I liked alot... great voice as well, but he's gotta beat that stereotype

opera'phantom' girl - horrible. why did they let her go ahead.. couldn't hit a note or a pitch

paula -.. you're so beyond hip or your day. Noone cares who you are and your little hissy fits are just annoying. At first she was a doormat now shes crying out loud for attention. The guy she was petioning so hard for, wasn't that great. Make him sing another song at least.

bring on hollywood.

I really should try and post this as soon as I finish watching the show, because I am trying hard to remember any of the singers, but it's not coming to me that well.
One of the crooners was ok, he had a nice voice, the one who had the uncle or something...The nightwalker had an okay voice. I didn't catch all of the impersonator who sings at a lot of Karaoke bars because I thought he was a joke and turned the channel for a bit, but apparently he got through - how bout that.

Nadia was the only one who impressed me tonight, and she might have a shot at making it far, also that guy with the fainting Mother had a good voice - I might cheer for him if they show him in Hollywood.

I would have put that second twin through just based on peserverance. Who has that much time and money to travel across the country, wait for days and perform for the judges? It's not like they would have been forced to keep him after hollywood anyway, just eliminate him in one of those line calls. Oh well, Hollywood next week, yay, I really enjoy those shows.

I thought they were going to Alaska for auditions.

Anyway, no one really blew me away.

The trampy Jap made it through, yet the twin didn't. ](*,)

I thought Alaska was part of it too, I was looking forward to it. They announced Anchorage shortly after AI3 was over, and people were thinking it was an odd choice, I guess something happened with scheduling or something and they just never got around to it.

Wasn't there an issue with the phone lines in Hawaii never being busy? Maybe the producers realized a similar problem could happen in AK if a singer made it through.

So much for Annogakuluuk, the Inuit Idol.

I don't think Alaska has phones. :???:

Nobody impressed me one way or the other tonight. I thought they let a few go through that shouldn't have, like the guy who did the Freddy Mercury impression and the Asian hooker. But, thankfully they sent the nasally sounding annoying twin packing! :D

I hated the twin after his third appearance (second, but his other twin makes up a third). I mean, come on! Jesus, if you're that good, go somewhere where you can make a CD. I don't get why some think they're God's gift to music and end up auditioning on American Idol.

And, I'm also sick of the morons who curse like a sailor when they're canned. They look like such idiots in front of all those people outside the audition room.
