I forgot abou that! A CBC commentor was saying that the main Chinese Sporting Official, said that if he didn't win this Gold medal, that his 2004 Gold Medal and World Win would be meaningless. So 91,000 spectators who left in disbelief + 1.3 Billion fans + Chinese government. I would not want to be in his shoes at all. It's too bad, he really looked like he was in pain. I hope ppl understand.

I just saw it right now :whaa: He hurt his right ankle while preparing... The crowd went silent and then took off when he left the hurdles after a false start where he looked like he was in a lot of pain.

Wow... talk about pressure from 91,000 spectators.

It's an old injury from May, and people have been speculating its possibility for a while, but still hurt greatly nonetheless when it indeed happened.

So his trainer, said that he had this problem before 2004 athens, the Injury has been going back and forth during the years... He had a problem in his tendon; they were worried about his bones, somethign about developing a hard bump.

His trainer was crying, reporters asking his trainer questions were crying, and he's too depressed to give a statement.

Damn...the judges REALLY screwed over Alicia Sacramone on vault. She can't get a break at all these games.

I was sad for Shawn Johnson, although Sandra Izbasa did an amazing job. Just seems like Shawn and Silver are always a duo. I was proud to see the US take home bronxe and silver though. That duo (Shawn and Nastia) have just be doing an amazing job. Here is a link to this entire documentary dedicated to all the atheletes that have made US proud in the Olympics!

That's just too much. You were the one who said in Athens that Liu was the one guy who didn't cheat as he was tested so much in European competitions prior to the Game. He is clean, and the way he wanted to run even though he knew how much permanent damage he could've done to his Achilles is beyond courageous.

Well, obviously I was joking. On the other hand I doubt Liu was tested as much in front of these olympics.

But he hasn't played much this season due to injury and hasn't broken 13.0 seconds. Basically I don't see any evidence that even suggests he may be doping. His best time last year was 12.95 when he won the world championship in Japan, still slower than what he ran in Athens.

And I'm so glad swimming is over. NBC has been milking the Phelps story to a sickening degree, and I've been totally put off by the guy's attitude. And his mom...wow, what a fake.

Well, after NBC showed that graphic breaking down the process of how a tie is broken then it makes sense to some degree. Nastia lost by .1 essentially. It is hard to swallow since there are ties at Worlds and I think you can have ties in other competitions but these subjective sports I guess you just can't end in a tie. All in all, again it makes sense somewhat but there's still a bit of a sour taste.

That would actually be 0.001

But the other girl was overscored anyways (the one who got gold)...I actually thought the Chinese girl who got the bronze deserved the gold (and the commentators seemed to more or less agree), Natia silver, and the Chinese girl that won gold deserved bronze.

But man...the girls Individual gymnastics results have been pretty controversial in every event so far. I don't think this new scoring method/overhaul is going so well.

At least the controversy here is less than the vault final. Those girls delivered big time on uneven bar.

I was wondering one thing: I don't Jacques Rogge is execptionally smart, but he surely doesn't believe that they are able to catch all doping cheaters. However he said before the games he expects to catch 30-40 cheaters. Well, the games are over the halfway-point and what do we got? 4? 5? To me that's proof enough that the doping controls are more behind than ever.

Phelps' is an idiot. Every interview went something like this:

Reporter: How do you feel about your accomplishments?

Phelps: I don't know. I'm at a loss of words. I, I, I'm at a loss of words."

Reporter: What are plans now?

Phelps: I don't know. I'm at a loss of words right now. A loss of words, man.

Learn how to speak for godsakes! :disgust:
