Notably, Elektra dropped only 30% in Per Theater Average this weekend. Im pretty sure if there was no snowstorm weekend 2, then Elektra could have held far more potently than it did. But when weekend 2s results were so bad due to a weak opening and a inflated drop, the theaters shed off in weekend 3 where FOX was keen to give it to "Hide and Seek", so despite the good PTA retention, the pic sunk.

Yet despite Elektra dropping the 12th largest amount of theaters ever , its 66.6% drop is a huge amount less than other pictures that dropped similar amounts http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/theaterdrops.htm

Its really too bad, Elektras a bit of a victim of circumstance rather than quality. Competition, weather and theater drops as well as some really, really un-necessarily bad reviews and opposition towards a genre that hits at a time where Catwomans cleaning up razzie nods like theres no tomorrow dosent exactly help a movie.

Elektras a good movie with some problems here and there, its such a massively better film than Daredevil that it speaks volumes about box office gross in relation to quality - but i guess Daredevilhate+Catwomanhate = Elektraloathe. I do reccomend that anyone who was curious about this movie takes a look with an open mind come dvd.
