I'm very skeptical of the "test screening" report. Sounds more like a rabid fan who thought she'd get a jump on reviews. Anybody else ever heard of anything like this happening before? Ever?

I think the movie will end up terrible. People will compare it Gladiator, but without the quality.

From what I have seen the quality looks to be second to none, much better than Troy was. This movie has me more excited than ANY in 2005, and I literally just heard about it a week ago.

I'll be going to see it, but it isn't on my list of "most anticipated" at this point. Perhaps if a better trailer is released it can move up in expectation.

Serious R-rated war epics don't tend to gross like that much in the US - which is a shame btw - so, hmm..., i see it doing in the $100m - $150m range. Everything past that would be super awesome!
One thing i'm sure of, that it'll cross the $100m mark, because it won't suck since it's Ridley - the man - Scott directing.

You know I totally agree.
I think that if it is good, 100m is a lock. By good I mean better reviews than Troy, and somewhere around the crtical acclaim of Gladiator.
I think this movie could take some flack for its portrayl of Christians and the Crusades in general, but I think that The Passion showed us that could also be a good thing, as long as the movie is good.
Alexander had controversy, but was a horrible movie. We shall have to wait and see with Kingdom.

Love that pic! Can't wait!
Though i have to admit, i'm a bit sceptical about Orlando - one face - Bloom, whether he's capable of pulling of heavy drama. Would be sleeping better if a superior actor would've been cast in the lead. Oh well, who knows, maybe he'll deliver and prove us all wrong (that he's not a good actor) once and for all. Fingers crossed...

I actually don't mind Orlando in the role, he did a fairly decent job in Troy.
I am willing to give it a shot, and if he messes it up, I will just never go to another of his movies, and I will stalk him until he goes mad.

I'm almost positive that a Paris Hilton horror movie will not affect Kingdom of Heaven at all.

As much as I see Kingdom of Heaven bombing although Im looking forward to the movie since I love historical epics and Ridley Scott movies, I believe House of Wax would bomb even bigger especially with Paris Hilton in it

It isn't only a Paris Hilton horror movie, but also a Dark Castle-produced horror movie(Dark Castle bought us Thir13en Ghosts, Gothika and House on Haunted Hill .)
And then, both House of Wax and Kingdom of Heaven would be rated R.

House of Wax and Kingdom of Heaven have different audiences, though. Older teens would go see House of Wax, while Kingdom of Heaven is for adults and guys who like battle movies. Not all teens will go to see... Orlando freakin' Bloom. [-(

This looks great. If it's not too religious (aka The Passion) then I am there.

I don't see what's so good about that guy, honestly. Maybe it is just me, but I do see a difference between Troy and Kingdom of Heaven, and I don't think there will be mass interest in Kingdom of Heaven to push it past $100 million. Kingdom of Heaven is a very religious type movie, and it's not a movie that I think all teen girls will run out to see for the sake of Orlando Bloom.

First, I absolutely love these types of movies. Loved Troy, King Arthur, Braveheart, Gladiator.. Only hated Alexander. What bother's me about this is Bloom headlining it. He's not a leading man in my eyes. I'm seeing it opening day, tough. Something about this movie says me that I will love it.
Opening: $38 Mio.
Final: $121 Mio.
