On the last day of the Democratic National Convention in August, Obama is to accept in a stadium in front of a crowd of over 75k. The convention center that was originally planned holds 19k.
Do you guys think this might open him up to ridicule? The imagery might come off as too "rock star".

The only people who would ridicule a politician needing a 75K stadium because the other venue was way to small to hold his supporters would be people who are going to ridicule him regardless.

If McCain could fill a stadium like that, you know he'd be doing it in a second.
1. Isn't this a wee bit dangerous in terms of security? They are going to have to pull out Superbowl level security just for this one event.
2. This is extremely over the top. What is the need to make his acceptance (coronation) in a football stadium? This type of spectacle is very unnecessary.

John F Kennedy did it in 1960, what's the big deal?

Also, Obama himself has given a speech in front of a crowd of 70K earlier this year.

Barack is a boss who can do that; 1st since JFK who could get away with it. Its all about showcasing the image of POWER. If Obama can fill it...that would be something.
I wonder if the stadium formerly having the word "high" in it had anything to do with??
