Because the movie is 49 days from being released. Iron Man's was around $80 million on there the day it was released.

-Opens with the shot of Batman on a building holding his hand to his cowl (like in the trailer) but this time, there's a Bat-signal off to the left in the sky.
-A guy runs into his apartment and his family is there looking frazzled. He says, "So...how was everyone's first day in Gotham City?"
His Wife: Some Joker blew up the mini-van..
Son: ..with a rocket launcher..
A little girl comes out of her room holding a smoking canister reading the label strangely and goes, "Daddy,...what...is 'Fear Toxin'?"
The husband creeps over to the other side of the room and says, "Uh...You know what I found out? With Comcast, we can get TV, Phone, and Internet for only $99 a month!....I guess this is paradise after all!""

Then there's a few seconds of details about the Comcast info and then after that there are three quick shots of TDK, pretty much out of the trailer(s). There's one of Bats on the Batpod going down the alley, then the one of Joker flipping his knife to his other hand, and then the one of Bats falling on top of the white van in a slightly new angle than before.

Batman Begins did all the selling necessary. It wasn't just the fanboys that were blown away by its quality. It was the top brass at WB and pretty much anyone who watched it with an open mind. That includes, I am sure, plenty of executives at other companies.



That interrogation scene is going to be off the hook. The Nolans truly understand the relationship between Batman and the Joker. Batman says in a pissed off way, "You wanted me, now here I am." Joker laughs hysterically in his face.
