What will prevent this movie from doing 300 million is the darkness factor. This is simply too dark for families to enjoy.

At the end of the day Iron Man opening and performance at boxoffice both domestically and overseas will be much more impressive than TDK and you guys need to live with it.

I care more about the movies themselves and you're gonna have to live with the fact that Iron Man was a good quality rip-off of Batman Begins but TDK will blow it out of the water.

hahhaah actually iron man blows away BB in every department. Acting, story, action and sfx.

But that doesn't mean BB was bad. It was also great film except Iron Man is better.

I am not gonna say much now and wait for TDK to release.

The only thing Iron Man blows BB away in is SFX. That's it. I never once felt as enthralled by the story as I did with BB. Perhaps that's b/c I knew exactly what would happen based on the trailers.

IM had one really good performance by RDJ. All others were just ok. BB had bunch of great performance. All the villians, GO, MF and of course CB. Plus IM lacked the intensity of BB. It was too glib, even when stark decided to stop weapon manufacturing. still IM was very good movie just not in BB's class.

IM is a 10/10 in my opinion. Great movie, but BB is on another level. I watched it the night before I saw Iron Man and many of the scenes still send chills down my spine.

As long as it ends up with 100m OW it should cross 300m. While the second weekend will see a large enough drop, considering the weak competition through out the next month (minus Mummy, which I doubt will be very big anyways) the weeks following will most likely see very steady declines.

Hmm, $100 million wo't bring it to $300 million. This WILL be frontloaded, no matter what.

But $110 million will be enough for $300 million.

I don't know the film appears to be the film event of the year like Spiderman 3 was last year.

That does not mean that the other films will not be huge, but to me TDK appears to be the film everyone will watch and it has no major major blockbuster around it.

It did fine OW but unfortunately after that was extremely frontloaded.

FF2 didn't have that much buzz really.

I'm sorry, but comparing The Dark Knight with Fantastic Four is worthy.

That movie had nowhere near as much buzz as Dark Knight will have, even if it "disappoints."
