What was driving me crazy about some of the announcers, was that they were referring to the Grand Slam as the "Calendar Slam" and saying Eldrick (Woods) had already won the Grand Slam. Too bad Eldrick owns the PGA and these announcers are just his puppets. ...but of course there is only one Grand Slam - - in a single season! (And it's true Bobby Jones did win the Grand Slam, but it was the classic Grand Slam (when it consisted of the British Open & British Amateur, and the US Open & US Amateur), since he originated The Masters himself...

So he'll miss The Players, hopefully he'll be healthy enough for the U.S. Open.

Having Orthoscopic Knee Surgery. My prediction is one step closer (or should I say one limp closer) - - El Dick's win at the Arnold Palmer a month ago will have been the last in his whiny career. From now on, David Duval and him will be shankin' balls together on a Florida pitch'n'putt...

Fuck you, Stuart Appleby (I wanted someone at 8 over to make the cut).
Otherwise... it looks like it is shaping up to be a good tournament. I just hope Tiger doesn't make it boring.

Just how many times do we need to see Tiger practicing? I think that's thrice already.

I'm glad they show international players during the US-commercials. At least you get to see more than the handful players you americans get to see

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
Well, it's probably game over, though you have to expect one of these years he'll blow a lead going into Sunday, or win from behind. Just once.
But it probably won't happen here. Tiger is like the Zen master of Torrey Pines. He's won the last 4 PGA events here and won the Buick 6 times overall. Yeah, I don't see him blowing this one.

I think this is the most likely time it would happen, simply because I don't expect him to make two long putts for eagle (one around 70 feet) and chip in for birdie again. There's 5 shots right there that probably won't be found this round. Also, his knee will be the worst it's probably been this week, so that will affect him as well. I would still pick Tiger to win, but I don't think he'll run away with it.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
I kick myself for not watching his performance yesterday. DAMN!
The ESPN highlights made it sound like the crowd was going ape during his last few holes. Two Eagles! I cannot believe I missed that stuff. I will definitely watch his final round today and hope he can pull it out.
If he beats the field with a bum knee...
What would that say about the skill of the other golfers playing against him when they can't even beat a player who's at 85% or so.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
The seperation between Tiger and the next highest ranked players is sad. I mean everyone is still marginally pretty good enough to contend and win at one of these majors, but no-one's even close to being a consistent conteder. I mean, Phil's supposed to be golden #2, has he even been in contention once since that legendary US Open fuck-up? It's hilarious to see the "match-up" between him and Tiger hyped up every major, it's just not happening. Adam Scott hasn't done very much. Ernie and Vijay? So 2003. Goosen's been there a couple times, but not *that* much. Ogilvy, Harrington, Garcia hang around the top 20 in these things a lot, they're probably the closest, but I dunno. I'm kind of hoping Westwood is the real deal for that reason, give us some kind of competitor for this guy.
