Well one thing is for sure. It was those dreaded superdelegates that decided this....BTW I thought Obama supporters hated superdelegates?

So? Without them, Obama would still have won. It's simply a relief that superdelegates aren't going to overturn the actual voting results. And I don't get how it's that the superdelegates decided this. It's pretty apparent that whoever has the most pledged delegates at the end will get the support of most superdelegates, so it's still the pledged delegates or the voting process that decided the race.

Xiayan. It is true that Obama has more pledged delegates but only a month ago Obama supporters were denouncing Superdelegates because of an inane fear that they woudl ruin the party by nominating Clinton. The fact is that neither candidate has the required number fo delegates to cinch the nomination so it became up to the superdelegates to fix it.

In fact our general election doesn't even have that luxury if neither candidate gets 271 delegates it goes to Congress where they vote in the next president.

I do hate the idea of superdelegates, just like I hate the electoral college and the current tax code and the designated hitter rule.

But them's the rules.

I like the idea of Superdelegates, though they didn't do their job when it was needed to help fix problems like this and nominate the strongest candidate for the fall, so what's the point of them if they just go with who has the most pledged delegates anyway? Everyone knew Obama was going to win, but he has been very weak in every primary for several months now, the only big win was in NC. He has made no gains in the demo's he's weakest in (women and working class voters, the two most important DEM voting groups in the fall). Obama can't win FL (look what happened in 2000 with FL), and he'll have an uphill battle in OH (again, look what happened in 2004 with OH). The DEM party are betting on his "change" platform to get them in the White House this fall, like it did for them in 2006.

I hate how Hillary haters talk with a tone as if she's thousands of delegates behind. 201 delegates behind as of this second per CNN's estimates. This could have gone either way. Unfortunately, it has gone the wrong way.

Either way you you would of been watching history. The first female presidential candidate from a major party or the first black male from a major party. The truth is for me is that I do not think that Obama can win the General Election. I hope I am wrong as I will be voting for Obama(their politics are essential the same). Obama will need to think hard about his vice president while Edwards would be best he will not go for it and other choices like Webb will be disastrous except for a few states. Expect many a scandel over teh next few months several as innocuous as re wright and others more serious both false and real. Remember until this year he has never had a contested election from someone from the opposite party(aka republicans).

Obama will have an uphill battle in many states that don't have a significant black population and the ones that will go DEM no matter what. He's not going to get any help from the working class voters, which is needed to win many of the REP states over the past decade and the bigger swing states, his latino support is weak, and there will be no caucus states (a process which limits the amount of partcipants (mainly working class voters, older voters, and single parents) due to it's overlong process), and no state where he finishes behind in the popular vote but ends up winning the Electoral Votes of that state.

This is all a huge mountain of bullshit. Comparing the results of primary votes against another Democrat with how he does in the general is just stupid.

First of all, that he is weak among working class voters or states without minorities is outright false. It is true that he is weak among the hill people for reasons that go beyond working class, but he did extremely well in states like Oregon and Montana, which have relatively few black people and a large working class population.

Second, that he only won caucus states is also outright false. If you're at all interested in facts, just look at the election results.

This disinformation campaign from the Hillary-bots to damage Obama is simply disgusting. Give it up. It's over. Obama is the nominee.
