First he confuses Al Qaeda with Iran. Now he gets Iran's political leaders confused. It's like saying Britain funded the IRA and Queen Elizabeth controls British foreign policy. This curmudgeon even tries to justify stupidity by claiming ordinary Americans are equally stupid.
The idea that "the majority of Americans believe it and that makes it reality" is simply mind-bogglingly stupid. It's also bullshit coming from a supposed "maverick" who also argued that we shouldn't base policy on popular opinion.

The "Liberal" media will yet again give him another pass, chalking it up as another cute and funny "Senior Moment."

That's giving him a pass? One of McCain's major problems (besides being in a party that is hurting) is his age.

Traditional old school media relys on the very same age bracket as McCain to generate revenue. Outside of shows like American Idol and Dancing With the Stars people under 50 don't watch the traditional 3 networks and I can count on one hand the number of people I know under 40 who still read newspapers. So in an attempt to keep the older viewers they let McCain slide on many more topics than they would either Clinton/Obama or a younger republican candidate (if there were any left). If the McCain camp plays the 'age' card as an excuse for his bumbling, the media won't attack him out of fear of alienating their viewers.

So what is your complaint about the media letting McCain slide? If nobody watches, besides old people, than that undercuts your original complaint.

Mccain knows nothing man. Anybody that knows enough about Iran knows who the real power is. That president is just a puppet.

I guess what I was trying to say (poorly) is that the traditional media has done a great job in disenfranchising/disinteresting/disengaging young people by constantly feeding them lies and bullshit. So when a candidate makes a dumbass comment, like McCain did, and lets him slide for it it only further erodes the interest of younger voters.
Munk people only began to think of americans as stupid after the 2004 elections when we elected King George to his first legitimate term in office.
