That Nabokov save was
I'm cheering for the Sharks, partly because I still hold hatred for Dallas from the Oilers playing them every year in the playoffs, and partly because I'd like to see history made with San Jose coming back.

Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
Dallas has been involved in the past 2 longest games on the Top 10 list. Just last year against Vancouver, 4 OT's. And in 2003 against Anaheim, 5 OT's. This just needs to last 5:44 into the 4th to move into Top 10.

Though I admit I tuned in at the beginning of the last overtime period.

I guess a lot of people left during the last intermission. Can't say I blame them though.

So... yeah, the second round sure ended strong, after starting weakly. I'll have the next round of my game up tomorrow.

I don't even care honestly. This game made my playoffs.
When Dallas gets embarrassed, you'll care.

You pulled off 8. In the past 2 series. So... You'll pull off 0 more. 8 is more than enough.

Nice to see Turco/Dallas finally win one of those "longest games". He's been in a few.

Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
So the Leafs fired their coach, Paul Maurice, today, after only two seasons. I guess he had it coming after Ferguson was canned. Most inept and disorganized franchise in professional sports? I think so.

It's amazing how hockey has one of the most inept organizations in pro sports and has essentially the best organization in pro sports.
Toronto and Detroit.

Nah, they're still bridesmaid to the Knicks (though the similarities are quite strong between them). Leafs just have a lineup of shitty players, while the Knicks have a talented team who suck just because they're dysfunctional/selfish, they embody all the negative stereotypes of basketball players.
My favorite Knick moment from last year:
I loled for like 2 days after that one

Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
That's maybe the most depressing thing I've ever seen.
Oh, and I think I might have overestimated the Wings/Stars series just a little too much. I didn't get a chance to watch any of the game tonight thanks to the Celtics game, but just looking at the box score, it just seemed like they got pushed around tonight. And being down 4-1 going into the third is never a good thing. If the Wings win the next game, they just might sweep them. I thought Dallas would at least grab two in this series, and they still can, they just can't get down by that much again.

Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
Masterton trophy nominees: Jason Blake, Fernando Pisani, and Chris Chelios. I hope Pisani gets it, but the cynic in me is thinking Blake, if only because he's a Leaf. And why the hell is Chelios there? Because he's old?

You're so blinded.
Colorado fans said that too. And they got DESTROYED by penalties all season because you HAVE to play physical to stop Detroit.
