Yet another great episode, damn this show's addicting.
Lots of more drama for every character, gotta love it. \:D/ Bree is still the best character on the show but I'm actually starting to like Lynette and Gabrielle just a little. I had a feeling that Susan would get the axe but there's no way they're going to lose 1 of the main cast.

Well, interesting episode tonight. Defintely not one of their strongest and one of my least favorites cuz it was so scattered and what was up with that last line? It felt so awkward, something about the children being the adults, the way it was written just seemed weird.

Anyway...

I'm liking, though getting a little impatient with the Rex-Bree storyline and they're kinda pushing it with making George some crazy psycho guy (they already got Zach!) I do want to see what happens though with the switched or 'compromised' pills.

Lynette, o lynette. I loved the opening sequence with her and susan. that was great. I loved lynette in the first few episodes, but they just can't seem to find good enough material for her week to week like they do for the others.
I guess we find out that her husband has had an affair, though it's never stated. I'm not sure if I like that or not, I think it's getting to be too many secrets. But we'll see.

Susan.... no Mike... can someone tell me if anything happened between them last episode (i missed it) I know Mike's boss came and all that stuff, but what happened, was Mike replaced? or was he just not in this episode, which sometimes does happen (edie wasn't either). I liked Susan in this one, she was manipulative and more adult, even though she was a bit non-understanding at the beginning when her daughter and Zach kissed.

Gabrielle: I really don't know where they are going with that storyline and we will soon find out if it will become a long-term plotline or if they get rid of the gradner and it becomes obvious that storyline was a ratings ploy. But there does seem to be something there, Gabrielle does feel something for the gardener (damn, forgot his name). We'll just have to wait and see!

Zach!!! So, what I gathered is that his dad is not really his dad (or was that only me?) and that Dana is still alive.
More questions raised: where is dana now? Why did she leave? What happened instead of all the blood and killing Zach is seeing in his memories?

I think just like LOST, they are going in way over their heads with too many storylines to cover that they can only do bits and pieces of a select few for every episode and while that leaves us wanting more, it ultimately doesn't fill us up every meal either. That was the main reason why tonight's episode was not as enjoyable. But then again, any episode of Desperate Housewives is better entertainment than most anything I get all week!!

Too abd next week is a repeat. How long are they gonna show repeats?

It was a good episode.

Nice to see Lynette not solely wrapped up in her troublesome kids, and good to know that her husband...Matt? (Or was that his Melrose Place name) is going to have a storyline, but I would think him cheating on her would be boring. But who knows.
Also, I don't know if Gabrille telling John that she doesn't love him was a way to end that story or because she was conflicted about it, to bring up more possibilites for that plot in the future. I hope it's the latter because I'm bored by her modelling show cars and by everything with Carlos.

Bree and George don't work for me. He's not that interesting and a bit too creepy for me. I prefer the VanDeKamp family interacting with each other and the other housewives, all other interaction seems weaker in comparison. Susan must have been born in the 1920's. Her reasoning for not wanting Julie to kiss seemed to be that she was only 14...only 14. A better rationale would have been Julie was kissing a crazy psycho who she believed was a killer - but she only found that out after the initial kiss breakup. But apparently he isn't even a killer, or maybe that's just another lie from Paul - it's hard to keep track anymore.

It seems February 13th is the next new episode: "Love is in the Air"

Interesting episode. Wild guess about Tom's secret: he fathered a child by another woman. Ryan O'Neal was surprisingly likeable and fit in pretty well.

That guy who plays Zach's dad, the actor Mark Moses, has the move enviable part on the show, he gets a chance to do some stuff that must be funny as hell on the set, even though creepy on the air. And something about him reminds me of Mel Gibson, his voice I think, like he could be a cousin.

As to Gabby and her young friend, I think she was being brutally honest with him, she's never displayed any real emotion towards him.

If Lost is fundamentally about redemption, this show is fundamentally about leverage, everyone uses everything as a way to leverage power against someone else.

Ryan O'Neal likable? He came off as really snobby, and ...I was so happy when Lynette kicked him out :D

I think it was the character though.

Great episode :) Again.

I have to say...I'm surprised more people don't find Lynette obnoxious.

While Gabrielle is also a selfish character, her character is also witty and adds something interesting to the show. While I love Felicity Huffman, I *really* don't like Lynette. She's a snotty, whiny complainer. I wouldn't mind if she was just dropped from the show.

On the other hand, I'm starting to like Edie more.

'Desperate Housewives' Demand Bigger Paychecks

The stars of hit American sitcom Desperate Housewives have reportedly threatened a revolt over their small salaries. Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria and Nicolette Sheridan are all demanding bigger paychecks to cash in on the worldwide success of the ABC series that won two Golden Globe Awards last week, reports Britain's Daily Star Sunday newspaper. More than 40 countries have snapped up the dark comedy and it is currently number one in the US ratings, regularly pulling in more than 30 million viewers. An insider at Touchstone Television says, "The girls are fuming. Their salaries range from $47,000 to $76,000 an episode - which is peanuts compared to the cash coming in from selling it around the world. It's crazy when you compare it with the $1.8 million-a-show the stars of Friends were making. No one's suggesting they're worth that much. But they do deserve a slice of the big bucks they're generating." In an interview with America's People magazine last month, Sheridan complained, "I'm the poorest actress on television. I heard (the cast of) Friends got cars when they had such amazing ratings. But I got flowers. I'm still waiting for the Porsche."

:)

While I do miss the fun Lynette (remember when she left her kids out on the street, or when she had to jump in the pool to get them out) I would not, by any means, call her obnoxious or whiny.

The episode where she's at the park with Teri and Marica was one of the best.

This was inevitable. The Lost characters will do this too. The will get money soon enough.

About the revolt, which I assume true since I also heard it from the radio...

First off, the Friends cast never got $1.8 million, the most they ever got was $1.1 or $1.2 million and that was for their last, and even shorter than regular, season.

As for the Housewives. I heard they are contractually obligated for some time to sit on their salaries but execs promised good things if they just wait a little.

In my opinion they should sit on those salaries till this season ends (they shoud be wrapping the last episode soon) and then demand more, if not already given to them, before Season 2.
At this point, they are worth at LEAST $250,000 a piece.
But the problem is, unlike Raymond, or Friends.... not all of them consistently show up or play major roles in every episode, so it gets really complicated. Nicolette Sheriden was even in last sunday's episode!

As for LOST, they have WAAAAAY too many castmembers to give significant raises to all of them, especially since it's a popular cult show that could just as easily go unpopular within a season. I don't know all their salries, but they deserve at least $150k by the end of this or beginning of next season! that's at LEAST, multiply it by about 12 central characters!

There aren't 12 central characters on Lost though, there's about 12 total characters with 3-4 of them being central. Lily, Fox, the guy who plays Locke and the guy who plays Charlie are the ones most likely to get bigger raises than others I reckon.

Remember, unlike Friends, on these two shows they could theoretically kill someone off if they got too demanding, so I dont expect the non-central characters too complain too much, though hopefully all will get at least a little raise.

i REALLY want to talk about this show, but im in the UK so id get spoiled by y'all. But its greeatt
Im at episode 5 i think.

BTW Jennifer Aniston as far as i know got some "bonuses" at the final season of Friends, they all got $1.8m for the final episode....but rumour has it Miss Aniston got $1.8m for a few episodes extra..whilst everyone else was stuck on $1.2m.
Thats a ridiculous amount of money for a show that has 6 major cast members and is just half an hour long. Were any of the cast worth it? No. Friends is one of my favourite shows ever, but the cast members all manipulated their way to big salaries as a collective - Either raise us all or we walk. And of course NBC couldnt lose its biggest show and THE biggest cultural impact ever produced by television.

The Desperate Housewives deserve such a salary - 4 major actresses and 1 hour long with ratings that are even better than "Friends" in all segments. Its stars are providing super-postergirls for ABC, and they sure as hell use them in every promotion possible. The shows selling incredibly across the globe for high prices and to big successes offshores. These actresses are entitled to their share - losing one of them could be fatal to the chemistry building on the show - although not as much as if Rachel left Friends.... But the point is DH is a monster hit. I wouldn't see them getting $1m an episode yet. But if in Season 3 these ratings are still this high - then it wouldnt surprise me

But expect episode 1 of DH SEASON 2 to be MONSTEROUS. This show really IS addictive [although not as much as dearest Alias] but i can easily see it breaking 30 million viewers at either the end of this season or the start of next season.

No, they're doing some skit thing on Oprah's show where Oprah plays a character who moves to Wisteria Lane. It's only supposed to be 5-10 minutes long, but I believe most of the cast will be in it.

I'm not sure when it airs on Oprah. It's one of those things Libs probably knows, or would be the first to know when a date is announced.
