The RNCC must be crapping their pants right now. This was one of the reddest districts in the country.

the republican party is so fucked up right now and needs to re-evaluate why they are republicans and why they joined that party. This party is no long the party it used to be and what it used to stand for and hopefully they are seeing that and start to realize they need to get back to the values that made people want to be republicans.

I agree, but that won't happen before election time.
The last three special elections have all been won overwhelmingly by Democrats in Republican territory. Not a good sign for the GOP. In one of the races, they ran ads against the Democrat trying to tie him to the "radical" Barack Obama and the Democrat still won.

If you are really living in Scranton now, please don't vote for the republican Barletta running for congress -- he's that arse who tried to kick out the immigrants in Hazelton...

Let's hope they keep trying this stupid strategy and let's hope it keeps blowing up in their faces.

Considering they spent $1 million on the race and got every big wig Repub down there the past few days (Even Cheney), they must really be hurting right now. This was a major loss. The Dems spent $1.6 million but they also have a whole lot more money on hand than the Repubs.

Check this out.
Davis lost by 8 points.
Republicans spent what amounted to 20% of the total cash on hand of the NATIONAL party. This would be the third special election in a red state that they've lost so far. They even tried smearing Childers with a REV. WRIGHT ad. Now that is just desperate and pathetic.
Childers talked about issues. Davis talked about Wright and Obama. Republicans are in the wilderness with no ideas and a giant torture-loving, war-mongering, big borrowing and spending retarded chimp named Bush on their backs.
I have conservative values. That ad has nothing to do with conservative values. Watching that ad is like watching chickens try to fly. Republicans are doing exactly what Democrats did last decade: whining about the other party without having principles of their own.

This is something both Hillary supporters and Republicans have yet to learn: The American people are wising up. They're not going to buy the old attacks any more. We can see it happening. Obama's appeal to our intelligence is doing very well.
