Jingoism is not a credible policy; Bush jumped the shark when he threw nuance under the bus. And what's with the love for deficits? Not in a hundred years did I anticipate the Democratic candidate to be the lesser of two evils on economic policy.

Nixon got us out of there with a semblance of honor. He opened diplomatic relations with China. Detente with the Soviet Union. Pakistan and Chile were more ambiguous.
