Suggestions?

I'm actually looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll witness something semi-historic (her resignation).

Ask her why she should get your vote when you already know who the nominee will be.

Try to ask her something really humiliating, something YouTube worthy!

"So, now that the race is over, can you tell me - why do you pay $500 for haircuts that make you look robotic?"
"So, now that the race is over, how do you feel about the Lewinsky scandal? Bill's name can't get you anywhere anymore...is it time for a divorce?"
"So, now that the race is over, let's cut to the chase here: you really wouldn't have been any better for blue-collar workers than Obama."

I actually like Clinton - she would make an excellent governor or maybe PTA director. But she brings too much baggage to the White House, and, besides, she would've lost. Politics ain't fair, but Hillary's not the one changing the sex barrier, either.

How can you claim to be the blue-color candidate when you're the one who been spending tens of millions of your own dollars to get elected?

And, along these lines, doesn't the fact that people aren't contributing to you mean anything to you?

Post Re: I'm seeing Hillary tonight
Hillary, Bill, and Chelsea are making many stops here over the next several days. I believe Bill made five different stops today alone, while Hillary was at the capital.

The latest poll has her up 40 points on Obama. And, thankfully, turnout is speculated to be around 60% due to strong early voting. My country for example has already beat it's total votes in 2004 by early voters alone. Early voters usually make up around 30% of the total vote here.

Bill Clinton won West Virginia with 72% of the vote, his highest percentage from any state, but since then the DEMS have nominated far too liberal candidates who struggle with working class voters (Gore and Kerry, and soon to be Obama), so they keep voting REP because of this. I'm confident Clinton can win around 2/3 (65% or a little higher) of the popular vote here TUES. And there's about 1.2M registered voters according to the paper, so she could gain around 225K votes on Obama from West Virginia. And Kentucky will mirror West Virginia, and is bigger, so yay..............

Did I say she did? Because she doesnt have a shot at the DEM nomination itself.

Did I say I thought she might?

She won't, but there's many advantages for her to do so. If she did, and ran against McCain and Obama, she can make a strong showing in: West Virginia, Arkansas, New York, California, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida,Michigan, Tennessee, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Kentucky, and Rhode Island.

And don't forget 35% of her supporters, if she wasnt on the ballot, say they'd vote McCain, while 15% say they wouldn't vote at all. This is double what the Obama supporters say. Now, that number would drop considerably, but what if she stayed in the race, would 50% of her supports stand by her side "to the White House" like she said just a day or two ago? To me, that line may hint that some close to her, or herself, have thought about this and is why they are contesting in all 50 states, unlike Obama and McCain will not be able to say. I don't believe she has said she'd end her presidential bid when the nominee is chosen, just that she'd end her democratic nomination when the nominee is chosen. So it's an option, if very very very unlikely.

She'll lose every single one of those states. Either they're blue states and McCain wins with a plurality, or they're red states and McCain wins with a majority. In fact, if Hillary runs third party, McCain would win 48 states, with Obama grabbing Hawaii and Vermont. :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny:

Im quickly turning into one of those stubborn supporters who will switch sides due to arrogance like this (though it really wouldn't matter much when it's Obama vs McCain here since McCain would win). I don't mind Obama too much (my main issue with him is that he'll stuggle in the big three where as Clinton would not, many people forget older people naturally fear change and even if young people are voting more than ever, older voters are still showing up in larger numbers. And his health care plan), the arrogance of it all is what's annoying. At this point, I think we can live with McCain for 4 years since he likely couldn't get much done in Congress since DEMS should make some nice gains this NOV (though the DEMS have done shit since they took majority in 2006) and have a lower approval rating than even Bush. And he would have to be very careful to maintain his support with some Democrats, Independents, and his own base. It's not like he would doom America.

There's no arrogance in that. Check the math. Go to fivethirtyeight.com or make your own spreadsheet if you are so inclined. I'd be saying the same thing even if I didn't care about politics. Your own arrogance is more of issue than mine -- get a grasp of probability and statistics before you claim Clinton can win anything in a three-way match. I can give you an off-the-cuff estimate of almost every state roughly based on how current regressions are running. Can you?

The difference is, you tout Clinton's chances as a third-party candidate because you support her. That is ass-backwards logic. Kind of like creationists coming up with faux evidence of creation because they believe in creation. If I really were so arrogant, I'd do the same for Obama, but that would be delusional. He can take Hawaii, but even Vermont is iffy -- a win would be narrow, something like 35-33-22.

Oh, and I left out DC. In a three-way match, Obama can take DC.

PS don't make me accuse you of being a low-information voter. Is McCain loading up the Supreme Court with anti-choice justices harmless? Two liberal justices are retiring in the near future. I'm anti-choice myself, and wouldn't mind, but somehow I doubt you are as well.

Sorry about the rudeness in my above post, it's unbecoming of me. Outside all the acrimony in this political board, you're a great person that's brought a lot of smiles to the forumers here, myself included.

The only thing that annoys me is the "HAHAHAHAHAHA, she lost!!!! :100 emoticons:" , I'm going to rub it in your face now type responses from many of his supporters, at least online. Here and in comment sections of random related articles. If Clinton was going to be the nominee, I wouldn't be doing that because the race did/has become personal for many people involved. I really don't mind Obama much at all, and he'll gradually grow on me leading into NOV I'm sure (though I have no idea if I can say the same about everyone around him, supporters or whoever else, time will tell).

If you don't think the Hillary supporters have been as bad or worse, then you haven't been paying attention. If you're using his supporters as any kind of justification for anything, then you'd be as unsupportive of her as you are of him. But, be honest, it's not really about that, is it.

My emoticons were aimed at the long list of states a third-party candidate can't win. Technically, they have nothing to do with Clinton. Ask Ron Paul supporters about that.

It is about that. Hillary Clinton is without question one of my favorite politicians, but just because I really like her, doesn't mean I'm going to hate anyone that opposes her or anything, and many believe they MUST do this. Many feel it's their duty to always oppose whoever is against their favorite, whether it's politics or not.

And the difference when Clinton was in the lead, to now that Obama has basically locked it up is very noticable, at least online, which is one of his strong points, so I think it's a fair representation. It's the hate for someone, in this case for Clinton, people take and then turn that into the arrogance.

Post Re: I'm seeing Hillary tonight
I started the year 2008 with a positive impression of her, and I only supported Obama at the time because he's my Senator and I was familiar with his background. My attitude today didn't appear out of nowhere, mind you. For instance, I had already respected Hillary's command of policy details -- that is, until the gas tax pander-fest. I felt squeamish just watching her go at it, because she was indirectly insulting those very low-income white supporters by assuming they're too stupid to see through the pandering. Clinton supporters that tried to justify the pander were insulting their own intelligence, which was an equally gruesome sight. It was a real slap in the face for American democracy. I try my best to exercise independent judgment, and the Clinton campaign has forced my opinion of her to consistently deteriorate.

Disowning the gas tax pander would go very far in me reassessing your independence and objectivity. ;)

Post Re: I'm seeing Hillary tonight
I hope you realize what a lot of Obama supporters are getting at with their laughter. Although a few are genuinely insulting, most of them have good reason to ridicule the Clinton campaign. Laughing at the following does not constitute arrogance:

- Iowa mattered. Clinton put a quarter of her fortune into Iowa. Then she lost, and it didn't count.
- Small states are wonderful, because only in New Hampshire could voters truly see the candidates.
- Caucuses count and are a great blessing for the Democratic party, because Clinton won Nevada.
- South Carolina mattered. Until Clinton lost. Then it didn't count, because Jesse Jackson won there.
- Florida and Michigan obviously don't count, because they violated the DNC rules, which Clinton agreed to. They were meant to beef up Clinton's positive news cycles in January. There's no disenfranchisement because it's their own damn fault.
- Caucuses don't count because Obama won all the other ones.
- Smaller states are worthless and don't represent real Americans, because Clinton didn't win the ones after New Hampshire.
- Only big states count because only Clinton can win big states. Right, as if Obama can't win California.
- Florida and Michigan suddenly matter, because Clinton won those elections. Those voters suddenly become disenfranchised because they're Clinton voters.
- Only Ohio and Pennsylvania count, because one has to win Ohio and Pennsylvania. Obama can say the same about the longer list of states he would win that Clinton wouldn't. He hasn't stooped to that level, which reflects well upon his character. The "big three?" :funny: :funny: :funny: What about Washington, Oregon, North Dakota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Virginia, Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico?
- Speaking of character, by this point in the list, Clinton ain't got none. Note how Obama did not punch back on most of these baseless accusations about big states, small states, caucus states, white states, black states, etc.
- Oh, I forgot: your existence doesn't matter unless you're either a poor white person or an old woman. And you can't drink coffee, use a tote bag, drive a hybrid, or be an "activist."

The reason you have gotten a lot of flack is because you believe in all these idiotic "what counts" parameters. Believing in something so profoundly idiotic opens you up to accusations of being an idiot, which is what has been occurring. And no, it is not arrogant to point out idiotic talking points as being idiotic. You're not an idiot if you get the hell away from idiotic talking points. Capiche? =)

Is there a difference? Would you like to me find some of the hateful crap that Hillary supporters have said about Obama or his supporters? Because it won't take long. Heck, Mdana accused me of being a SEXIST because I don't support Hillary. And if you TRULY have a problem with that, then you'd have a problem with it from the Hillary supporters too. But clearly you don't as you don't even seem to think that Hillary supporters have been hateful or arrogant at all.

Btw, Clinton has now been reduced to arguing that, in addition to all the voters in states that she lost don't really count, that now black voters don't count either.

So she was actually pretty great tonight. My friend (who I went with) had like a two or three minute discourse with her, which was fascinating and great to see. Much more friendly, open and personable than she comes across on TV I think.

I came away feeling like if she somehow miracled out the nomination I would feel great voting for her, though I'm still an Obama supporter.

She'd be ahead if black people still count for 3/5 of a vote.
