With that being said, I am impressed the series is tied 2-2. I still hope! Peace, Mike

If the Bruins didn't exist they'd still have a full schedule. That's what I meant. And Mike, I wasn't trying to put down the Canadiens. Out of the playoffs might have been a little extreme though.

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
Eh, if we assume at worse they go .500 against the rest of the field without the Bruins, they'd still probably be around 95-97 points, hanging around with the Rangers and Flyers. And that's still kind of unfair, a lot teams have a whipping boy, like the NY Rangers killing the Devils this year. It's like saying if the Devils just split the games with NY, they'd be #1 and NY would be out... but it's clear NJ isn't the best team in the East and NY is easily good enough to be in the playoffs, so anyways. It's flimsy.

It'd be nice if we could get another goal scorer to go along with Bergeron and Kessel (who has mysteriously disappeared this series). Our defense is fine, but if we just get another goal scorer (BRAD BOYES!!!)............... We could finish first and then get knocked out in the first round again.

He just needs another year under his belt. I think if we stay with him (unlike Boyes!!!!), he'll be fine and the Bruins will benefit.

And there go the Sens. Sweet revenge for last year's whomping for Pittsburgh.
Now I just hope they don't assume they're untouchable when they face their next opponents in a week or so.

Ottawa's first out, as expected.
Rangers go up 3-1, and Nashville looks like they could even their series.

They should've played him from the beginning. Osgood has ruled this year.

Zetterberg/Datsyuk both have 6+ shots on goal. They're turning the heat up a notch...
Detroit always gets stuck with the hot goalies.

I hope this doesn't mean Nashville's going to the finals
I mean I like Nashville-ish, but please, for the sake of the league and all...

Oh, and Detroit, for I think the THIRD time this series... has let in 2 goals within a minute of each other.

This is hilarious. After dominating in the regular season again... could Detroit blow it right away in the playoffs... yet again? Heh.
Peace, Mike

Peace, Mike It's almost fun to watch them unravel so early into the playoffs.

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
I really thought this was the year they finally did it, after everyone overlooked them for San Jose and Anaheim. They got pretty close last year (going up 2-1 with Pronger suspended for the next game then losing, CHOKE)

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
It's funny, at the start of the playoffs, I thought the East was gonna be a lot more interesting than the West. But with Pittsburgh sweeping, and Montreal and New York up 3-1, it's actually been pretty boring.
The West has been a lot more exciting, with three (!) 2-2 series and Anaheim losing 2-1 to Dallas. Much more interesting.

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
Wow, Boston murdered Montreal tonight. Price finally let in some fucking awful goals.
They just have to win in Boston now to go to Game 7. Actually being down 3-1 and playing game 5 in the other team's building isn't a bad predicament... If you lose, you're dead yeah, but I always like the team that steals that game to take that momentum through Game 6 at home and push it to 7, like Edmonton did in the finals a couple years ago. When you're up 3-1, it's almost better to be in a position the Rangers, where you have the chance to win in 5 in their building, but if you lose that one, you still have your home game to finish them off.

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
Washington/Philly was a fantastic game. One of the best I've seen. Non-stop chances, and both goalies stood on their fucking heads. I think the Caps are done now, though, Huet played unbelievably and they still lost.
Yeah, Price sucked, but I have a feeling he'll bounce back to win them the series Saturday night. 'Cuz if he doesn't.... uh-oh for Montreal.
Minnesota, Calgary, and Anaheim are all on the ropes now, though the latter two have home ice advantage in their next games.
The Penguins have just gotta be sitting back and smiling. I definitely think they're the beasts of the East now.

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
Just when I thought they were dead (say it with me) they pulled me back in. I did not see tonight's game coming at all. For the first two periods it seemed to be the same old song and dance. And then of course when I snuck off to watch The Office ( ) they just went absolutely nuts. After two months it was due to happen, I just didn't think it would be this year. Hopefully they saved some goals though for Game 6 cause they're gonna need them. And I'm starting to wonder if Claude Julien might have sat Kessel down one game too many. Hopefully my prediction doesn't come true and the Bruins can send this series to a Game 7.
