 Re: The Dark Knight Predictions
I actually think the logo looks pretty badass, which is good for the marketing campaign. It's also highly similar to the logo used for the first film (just a bit more refined), which is a pretty good move.

LadiesMan and BKB, two peas in a pod. Their jealousy of the Nolan Bat franchise is pretty amusing.

It looks generic just like the outcome of the movie will be to and implode before the batfans very eyes and the HULK and IRONMAN stomp TDK into the ground this summer..

Dark Knight looks to be just about anything but generic. At least it doesn't appear to be the same movie as its predecessor, but with more action (*cough* Incredible Hulk *cough*).

What action?? What action did TDK trailer both teaser ands regular show that implied action as good as TIH???

 Re: The Dark Knight Predictions
Well, for starters, it doesn't seem that all the best action in Dark Knight is saved for the final half-hour of the movie.
Really, BKB, you're the only one here (and the Hulk fanboys are really the only ones out there period) who sees Incredible Hulk being so much more promising than Dark Knight when everything seems to indicate it being the other way around. No, Dark Knight won't have giant monsters fighting each other, but it's going to have shootouts, car chases (or more specifically, "Tumbler" chases), explosions, at least one villain of the highest qualitative degree (Heath Ledger as the Joker), and plenty of badass action. Incredible Hulk looks suspiciously like the 2003 film: "Lookie what's happening to me"/"He's the property of the U.S. military"/Overplayed Bruce-n-Betty romance/"Tease" action with poor visual effects/"Exposition" and then some big action. And not only does it look below the level of quality of Ang Lee's 2003 film, but its trailer isn't as effective as the Hulk trailer that was making multiplex rounds five years ago.
Not that any of that matters since this is a thread about The Dark Knight and Incredible Hulk won't do a damn thing to this movie when it opens, even if it does the impossible (emphasis on impossible) and tops $300 million, seeing as its run will be all but over by the time Dark Knight opens.

 Re: The Dark Knight Predictions
Fools, action is important but what made the previous film such a well liked film, was that it had much much more.
Apart from great action it had a real story and it had great acting.
X-men 2 was the only other Superhero film to have all three.

X-men 2 was the only other Superhero film to have all three. Agree. Nolan has said his favorite scene in TDK is in the middle of the film and that they are trying their best to keep it from leaking. He says it's a scene where Batman and Joker are having a conversation, a battle of the minds. THAT kicks the shit out of anything in Iron Man or Hulk. Nolan is an intellectual and knows what the hell he's doing. Besides, Joker shoots a damn rocket launcher for crying out loud. He also blows up a hospital. And there's supposedly a scene where a bomb is in a guy's stomach that blows up. Badass action if you ask me.

Holmes wasn't good at all in Begins. I'm really glad Gyllenhaal is in the sequel.

Hang on, Hang on. Now I loved Batman Begins as much as the next guy, but its action was pretty average for the most part. Then again, most action in superhero movies are never that good, the Xmen films might be the only exception.
All TDK needs to do is better its action, even if its only from the scale Xmen did to X2 but on a Batman scale of action, it'll be ok

It needs better dialogue and a better climax than Batman Begins had. The microwave emitter plot was lame in my opinion. Hopefully they came up with something kickass since it's the Joker.

 Re: The Dark Knight Predictions
IMO, the microwave thing and the action in the film were indeed not too terrific. What made the film stand above EVERY other comic book movie was the character development, especially that of the Batman character (I do mean Batman, not Bruce Wayne).

 Re: The Dark Knight Predictions
The film had superb pacing. You were routing for Bats to fuck up his mentor. It was beyond action, it was personal.

My current prediction would stand at around $95M for the opening and $245M for the total.

 Re: The Dark Knight Predictions
The viral marketing for this flick is brilliant. Either that or someone should be hiring at WB. Seriously:
