Ugh... how did Are We There Yet? do so well? I see Coach Carter dropped like I expected. Unless, of course, there's a massive increase today?

Great for Are We There Yet?. It should do atleast $16 million for the weekend. Assault had a nice increase from Thursday, so that's pretty good I guess.

Snowstorm did have an effect on some holdovers like Racing Stripes, which had a lower Friday increase than usual kids movies around this time.

That's actually really good for Phantom. It's showing very nice legs as of now, after a 4 million dollar opening. I hope it can keep it up and hold steady after this weekend. I'm sure it will.

The snow will definently have an impact on theaters for tonight. It's getting up to a foot here (Philly) and almost 2 feet in NY.

Horrible, horrible drop for elekra.
Pretty bad drop for Coach Carter, Fockers and White Noise too.
Spectacular that The Aviator increased from last Friday. It's shaping up to be the only Oscar movie to have the box office credentials for the win.
Amazing for The Phantom. Its PTA decreased by *LESS THAN 2%* compared to last Friday despite the 66% expansion in theaters and across-the-board huge drops for other movies. That is virtually unheard of for such a big expansion. Even The Aviator's PTA dropped 12% despite last week's GG wins. This movie deserves its tremendous legs and I hope WOM will continue to spread as people actually see the movie.

hard fall for Coach Carter :-( , I think it'll recover though. I see a $13M weekend for it, with my all seeing 3rd eye. Are We There Yet? is a kids movie and therefore should have a nice Saturday increase. Perhaps a $19M weekend, which would make the third rather large January grosser in a row. This month is usually considered a wasteland, lol. I wonder if Hide and Seek or Alone In The Dark can pull off these #s.

Ouch for Elektra!
Good numbers for Are We There Yet? We'll have to wait for Saturday-Numbers to see how bad all the drops will be (I'm still not sure about Coach Carter, Racing Stripes and all the other holdovers - some might have good increases...)

BJ this weekend could get even worse due to the bad weather conditions across the midwest for the most part and the east coast

As itstands here in toronto, we're basically snowed in. I can't imagine anyone stupid enough to go out this weekend, honestly.

As everyone else has said, the multipliers should be lower than normal. The driving conditions around here are pretty bad.
