Bought this movie yesterday. Good movie with average to below average graphics. Far superior compared to A Bug's Life.

Being one of the only people on earth liking it more than A Bug's Life I still think it has a more clever script. The animation may not be on par with Pixar's work, but it is a fun movie. It lost a bit over the years though. (B-)

 Re: Antz
1998 was quite a year - two great animated ant movies! Antz is a very good film which combines anthropomorphized humor with a reasonably accurate view of ants. Also, Woody Allen gives a very good vocal performance in his only animated movie (if you don't count the animated sequence in Annie Hall). I'd love to see more insect based animated movies. *A*

 Re: Antz
Antz is a respectable first effort from Dreamworks, even if the animation pales in comparison to A Bug's Life, which came out just one month later. IT has a more serious and adult tone, though thematically its quite similar and can be enjoyed by kids too. Its a bit quaint and other animated films took what was done here and improved on it significantly.

 Re: Antz
This was really a precursor to Shrek of a computer animated movie really primed for adults as well kids so definitely I think left a lasting impact on the genre.
