 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Marion sitting out the rest of the year now too
The Heat could legitimately lose 70 games this year.

Don't know if anyone knew this...
But David Stern is trying to make it so kids have to go to college for 2 years before entering the NBA.
I agree with him 100%

I agree with him 100% I agree also. It's good for the image of the NBA to make sure these kids are just a little bit more mature before coming to the league. On another note, is it safe to assume that everybody is now on board with my early prediction that the Rockets will still make the playoffs without Yao? My brilliance sometimes even surprises me!

It cancels out the embarrasment of this: Quote: Season predictions (best record, regular season):
East #1. Detroit Pistons (division winner) #2. Chicago Bulls #3. Cleveland Cavs #4. New Jersey Nets (division winner) #5. Boston Celtics #6. Toronto Raptors #7. Washington Wizards (division winner) #8. Miami Heat #9. Orlando Magic #10. New York Knicks #11. Milwaukee Bucks #12. Atlanta Hawks #13. Charlotte Bobcats #14. Indiana Pacers #15. Philadelphia 76ers
West #1. Dallas Mavericks (division winner) #2. Phoenix Suns (division winner) #3. San Antonio Spurs #4. Houston Rockets #5. Golden State Warriors #6. Denver Nuggets (division winner) #7. Utah Jazz #8. Seattle Supersonics #9. Memphis Grizzlies #10 LA Lakers #11. Sacramento Kings #12. Portland Trailblazers #13. New Orleans Hornets #14. LA Clipper #15. Minnesota Timberwolves
Championship... Pistons vs. Mavericks with Pistons winning in 7.

Ok... so my brilliance fails me at times. Wow... there are some bad picks there. I'm not sure what my thinking was about Seatle and Memphis competing for a playoff spot in the west!

And with Pierce and Garnett, that doesn't guarantee a championship because there would be no one behind them to back them up and because it seems that if Garnett were to come here, it would've only have been for a year. The Celtics would've had to have gone all out to get another player to add to the mix to guarantee a championship and that wasn't going to happen. At this point I would much rather have Al Jefferson and company than Garnett and no one else. Now if another deal were to come up.............

Miami at #8?!??! I can't remember the reasoning for NO at #13, and clearly I was way off there. However, I'm not too embarrassed by my Miami at #8 pick... I don't think anybody predicted they would be the biggest disastor of the league this year. I mean, they made the playoffs last year and won the finals the year before... they had the same team back with a presumably healthy Wade. I still can't figure out what's going on in Miami. They should not be the worst team in the league with their roster, and couldn't even win games with Marion and Wade (two All Stars). There's got to be something going on there beneath the surface.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Argh I think the Philadelphia 76ers are on jesus juice or something... At first I thought it was a neat story but I'm starting to get scared we might fall to 7th... all logic says it'd be near impossible because their schedule is hard and ours is easy, but beating Phoenix and Detroit on the road? Leading San Antonio by 10 at the moment? Last night they were losing by 16 on the road going into the 4th and won.
fuk.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
In case anybody is interested... this site rocks: http://www.channelsurfing.net/It has links to all of the NBA's streaming league pass games (scroll down a bit). So, you can watch every single NBA game, as well as just about every sporting event in the planet. I don't know how they do it, but it's been around for a while. Anyhow, it comes in handy for watching out of market games. It runs pretty smoothly too.

Hmm... The Suns ended the half on a... 37-8 run. Now... Who said the trade wasn't going to work?

Rockets win #22. They're number 1 in the West.
Should be noted that Gasol was out.

Why note it?
Injuries happen.
Nobody just goes out and wins 22 fucking games in a row anymore. Especially when you're #1 in the West...

Should be noted cause David West was out when they played the Hornets and Dirk was out when they played the Mavs. This is in no way takes away from what they've done, but you gotta admit it's weird.

Ray Allen could be back and the Celts will have played the spurs the day before I'd be really impressed if they won.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
If Houston can get through the Celtics, the Hornets, the Warriors, the Suns and then the Spurs... then they deserve to have the record.
Also... if they win... they're 33rd game would be against LA... the Clippers. Then Seattle. Then Phoenix.
IF they make it to 32... they should make it to 34 and take the record.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
They'll lose against a good team on the road. Since Yao went down they've played good teams at home and bad teams on the road, but the only elite team on the road they've played is Dallas without Dirk. After the Boston game they go play in New Orleans, Golden State, and Phoenix, so if they get past the Celtics I'll imagine they lose to one of those 3. If they win all those games... well that'd just be amazing, and they'd deserve to win more than 33 in that case.

god damn this is pathetic... We're giving up 124 ppg on this road trip. And we were giving up 95 before it. PATHETIC.

If Warriors end up 8th place, I really hope Rockets take 1st.
W's could probably take that series in 6 without Yao to bother them inside.
