When do you consider it a double standard?

This whole issue is:

Corpse made a thread that was a direct link to a thread that got out of hand because of what the thread was about. This new thread was essentially WHY the last thread got closed. Thus, it was closed. It was 100% warranted.

No other thread I've seen lately was a deliberate attempt to cause drama more so than that.

That comment of jujubees that Mr. X brought up really isn't that bad. At least I don't see it that way. Perhaps she was asking if she read what she just wrote because some of it didn't seem to make sense. I mean I sometimes get lost in the run on sentences and forget what the point of what Corpse was trying to say sometimes. About the whole mods only being mods sometimes, that is how it should be. No one should have to just be a mod all the time and be expected to never make any sarcastic remarks or have no fun. People are made mods primarily to do the simple tasks that admins don't always have time for. Sometimes they have to step in when things get out of hand between posters because it is their job to keep he forum as healthy as possible. I don't think jujubee ever acted out of spite or anything like that. If I were a mod and someone posted a thread that I thought would cause more trouble, I'd probably lock it. Maybe the thread would have turned out fine (I doubt it), but you can't really blame someone for doing what they think is right.

As for jujubee's comments, I can understand what Korrgan is saying about the comments, but I agree, there was nothing that out of line about them. I think jujubee may have let frustration color her post, and I can totally understand. In my opinion, she did nothing wrong, she's human just like the rest of us.

We're human Mr. X. We say things maybe we shouldn't have, or said with more respect. I think this is one of those cases. Jujubee could have shown more respect in this situation, but that said, nothing she said was as awful or disrespectful as you are making it out to be.

I had a post written, that I deleted, which was far, far worse.

I think this thread has pretty much run its course. Unless someone comes up with a NEW complaint against mods, I will lock it in 10 minutes. It's time to go to bed, people!

Well yeah, I can see how Corpse and Korrgan or anyone could have taken that comment, regardless of how it was meant. But I don't really see it as something so bad that it should be causing this much of an uproar. It's not like she's said somethng like "holy hell, you're a dumb bitch, how did you ever make it through school!?" People are going to get into little scuffles and make little comments like that all the time. No big deal if you don't make it out that way and let little things like that get to you.

I don't think it's all related to that comment. I think it points to a frustration between the users involved and in this thread which has been building for a little bit now. We just need to take the kettle off the stove and let that steam blow out peacefully.

At first I didn't see the word anyone in there and thought you said you go out of your way without even knowing you did anything, which makes no sense whatsoever. I was about to quote you and say "did you even read what you just wrote?"

I wish you all would resolve what looks to be silliness that you'll look back on and laugh about.

I also hope that jujubee will give me a chance a little more.

Honestly, I don't get the complaints against jujubee? Is the "I'm psychic" line really reason for huge complaint? Not locking a thread because it was the middle of the night? For the record, I support Corpse's thread in the Water Cooler being locked. It was a continuation of a mess that had already gone on for like 13 pages, the issue had run its course, there was no need for more flame wars and drama. What on earth are you guys bickering about?

I will take the time and read this thread in its entirety at a later point, but I've gotta say that I have had my share of issues with a couple of WOKJ mods (nothing too serious, though), but as far as the current staff goes... haven't had a single problem with them and haven't really witnessed anything bad either. All going well.

Everyone was saying crap about Corpse because she asked people too, she asked a question, she got an answer, including from jujubee. You and Mr.X make it seem out of nowhere COrpse was being attacked, and the big bad villian jujubee came outta nowhere to egg the mob on.

You can not like a person and still do your job. They can even know you don't like them and you can still do your job.

Had a mod/admin locked corpse's original thread eariler, someone would be bitching about that too.

Again, it's not like jujubee was calling her a worthless dirty attention-seeking whore. She was participating in the discussion Corpse was asking for, just like everyone else, it's not like the two got into a one on one insult war or anything.
