 Re: March 4th Championships
Obama yesterday received the endorsement of the Houston Chronicle, the biggest paper in the biggest city in Texas.
Technically he doesn't have to win Ohio or Texas, he merely as to not lose by a lot and he'd still be ahead of Hillary in delegates. But it is looking likely that he'll win at least one of those two.

 Re: March 4th Championships
Whether he wins Texas or just loses - looks like Obama is a lock now for the nomination. That was Hilary's last chance.

How bout this: I bet you Hillary wins Texas. Endorsements have proved to be garbage, people don't go into a voting booth and say "Oh, well the newspaper endorsed Obama, guess I better vote for him!" Writing Clinton off in Texas is even stupider since only 1 out of the past 4 polls shows Obama with a lead (48-42), and the other 3 give Clinton from 48 to 54%.

I bet Clinton wins the popular vote and loses the delegate count.

Hey, she has no one to blame but those loyal Hispanic voters that failed to show up in the previous elections whereas the black voters did show up to let their voices be heard.

And Barack has yet to campaign there whereas she has: 1. A very recognizable brand name 2. A very popular brand name 3. Campaigned across the state for the past week. Obama's first campaigning in Texas will happen tomorrow. If he's only down 2 right now when he was down 15 or so not too long ago, even though he's hardly campaigned here, then he can only go up once he gets a chance to campaign. However, if she can keep attacking him and if she does really well in the debate later this week, then maybe she will increase her lead.

In Texas, organization will be key. Obama is out-organizing Clinton here. We'll see how it goes.

He's outorganized her everywhere, which is one of the reasons he is doing so well. He ran a 50 state strategy and Hillary ran an old fashioned campaign, emphasizing certain states and ignoring others. In Texas, her people apparently have just found out about how delegates are given out, and she is filing a complaint -- what, she just noticed? Meanwhile, Obama's people have been aware of the strange local rule and have been running lectures and classes explaining it to people for months and preparing for it. If running a campaign is any indication about how organized his administration will be, I think the "no experience" argument doesn't hold as much weight.

 Re: March 4th Championships
Yeah, one of her surrogates (an advisor or staffer) recently said that the superdelegates should not be treated like second class citizens, that the pledged delegates from "red states" should be treated as second class citizens. You wanna talk about polarizing the nation, that'll do it right there. Obama truly is campaigning for President of the UNITED States of America, whereas Hillary is campaigning for the Blue States of America. Yet, when it fits their campaign, when there's a ton of Latinos in a state to support them, suddenly a red state matters: Texas. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/ ... gates.html

Way to treat Democrats from "red states". How rightfully pathetic.

 Re: March 4th Championships
You know, this is dangerously close to President Bush's "you're either with me, or you're with the terrorists" crap from a few years ago except it's coming from a leftist, elitist point of view rather than a right wing point of view. Clinton and every other Democrat criticized the hell out of him for dividing the country and telling many Democrats that they don't matter because they have the *nerve* to criticize his policies. Likewise, the red state Democrats don't matter to Hillary (except for Texas, because she might win it thanks to the Latino vote) because they have the *nerve* to give landslide victories to Obama.

Remember, it's the Blue States of America rather than the United States of America.

 Re: March 4th Championships
That's a patently offensive assumption, one purely rooted in the desire to win and no more. Such an idea has no foundation in the quest to remedy our country's failings. Just for reference, character does matter:

 Re: March 4th Championships
That first map just shows that there used to be no consistency between red and blue -- some map people made the Republicans blue and the Democrats red and vice versa. The first time I think I ever heard the terms "red state and blue state" would have been around 1996 or so.

Generally I like SurveyUSA's polls the best since they give a comprehensive cross-tab report, and they are pretty good overall. Here are their latest polls: Texas: Clinton - 50% Obama - 45% Ohio: Clinton - 52% Obama - 43%

Just saying. Hucks was hilarious! Tina Fey was awful. That term is degrading for anything other than dogs.
