This is a pretty interesting and detailed survey on Tuesday. By its estimation, Obama would gain a net of 31 delegates tomorrow.

I think if he could get over 60% in all three, that'd be big in term of media coverage.

Now I want some new Ohio and Texas polls!

huh? theres 97 delegates in virignia alone, hes getting a lotmore than 31 tomorrow...

There are some too close to call ones. Also the way the delegates are allocated, if a congressional district has 4 delegates, each will get 2 unless Obama gets over 60%(? I think) of the vote, so Clinton could receive a better proportion than the actual result shows. Also, if it does end up say 58-42, Obama would "only" get 16 more delegates in Virginia even if we go strictly by the proportion.

He will need to take 100 of them to gain a net of more than 31 on Clinton. I hope he does, but it's not a sure thing yet. The analysis from that link shows Obama should win at least 93, Clinton 62, and 13 delegates too close to call.

And that would mean Clinton would get 78, which would mean a 12 delegate net gain. So hopefully it's closer to the 31 xiayun is quoting.

Nah, should be pretty monotonous. Obama wins this, Obama wins that. Gets rather boring after a while. ;)

I meant here in Virginia, not "here" around the forums.

But, yes, you could be right.

So are you solidly on board the Obama train, Libs, or will you feel a twinge of regret not voting for Hillary?

Halfway between those two.

I am seriously hoping for a Sebelius vice-presidency now. That would pave the way for a great female chief executive, and I would like to see (a good) one elected before it is too late.

You know, I'll be the same way a little bit.

My vote on March 4 will be going to Obama, undoubtedly. But I think I'll always wish that I could have voted for Hillary had circumstances been different.

It's still a daily thing for me: I dread seeing her push past Obama, yet I still really like her.

No, it was because you never responded coherently about First Lady and cabinet experience. I gave you multiple outs, but you continued to harp as only a sexist would. It really had nothing to do with your CDS-Clinton Derangement syndrome.

You're giving the cliches and platitudes quite the work-out, he? Actually, I did address your "First Lady=experience to be president'' canard by saying that, according to you, Nancy Reagan is just as qualified to be president as Hillary Clinton. Which is, of course, ridiculous. And that's not sexist because I would argue just as much that a First Husband is not any more qualified. It just so happens that there haven't been any First Husbands. So the sexism is just a blatant (and desperate) smear, not that I'd expect anything else from you, certainly not a coherent argument of any kind.

I did no such thing. Please desist from dissembling. You tried to be dismissive of the experience of being First Lady, I pointed out that Nancy was encouraged to run for office.

I never argued that all First Ladies experience were equal, merely pointing out that experience can be considered as important and valid.

In regards to your other points, you ignored the countless examples I gave you of wives of politicians serving as politicians, and that is not just an American phenomena. You ignored the Roosevelt example. Do not pretend you answered in good faith or seriously any of the points I made. I don't think using a non-existant equivalent situation, proves anything. Although, at least it kind of answers your disregard of the position, which I find absurd.

I wasn't accusing you of being a sexist, just the point you were making came across as a sexist arguement. We obviously disagree on this issue, most likely due to our different frames of reference on the issue.

No of course not. When "big corporate media" sites have info you don't like, they are totally unreliable. But when you like to the NY Times or CNN, as you do constantly, they're 100% fact.

And of course, I'm a blatant sexist because I don't think that being married to a president qualifies one to actually be president, whether that person be a wife or a husband.

Quote:
He just doesn't care much for Obama's Right Wing distortions

Right-wing distortions? Would that be anything like right-wing tactics? Because I'm trying to think of who it was who, in much the same that Bush accuses all of his critics of being liberals for not going along with all of his stupid shit, who it was who accused me of not being a true liberal because I don't tow the Democratic Party line. Who was that? Could you remind me?

You constanstly dissemble, cut and paste and leave out important facts. There is spin and there is being dishonest. I stated in another post that I wanted people to be skeptical. If you go to the link you know it is opinon and not reporting. I can't walk everybody through ever step.

I'll remind everyone to take any information no matter the source with a grain of salt.

I don't allude to things that can't be verified and then chastize candidates.

I find your obstinacy extremely frustrating. You are obviously intelligent, but your boorish behaviour has left me a bit unfeeling towards your plight. I don't understand someone voting for McCain if Clinton or Obama are the alternative. I question how liberal they actually are. Sue me, it shouldn't bother you much if I can't make a coherent arguement. ;)

Why don't you start a thread where you logically make the case that support McCain over Clinton is the liberal thing to do. Try and leave out emotion and do it rationally. I promise to read it, maybe I can help you with some points to make a stronger case.

I don't know how it would help Obama much. I don't even know if she would win KS. She is just not that well known outside the state to have much impact. Although, she might help in KC a bit. Obama should be able to win MO anyways, but a little help never hurts.

Hillary is pro-war and anti-gay rights as well. So that's a wash. I'm also not impressed with her health care plan (or anyone's health care plan, for that matter, including Obama's). I do agree with you on the economic policies, as McCain is very typically Republican - borrow and spend a LOT.
.

That is not true. Hillary supports ending discriminaton in the military. She also endorses the Stop Aids 08 Platform, among many other issues important to the Gay community. Clinton, Obama, and McCain are all against Gay marriage. She is much more supportive of Gay rights and issues than McCain.

I couldn't find anything better but this site is pretty good.

I went to UVA. It's like VA College Central all up in this thread, heh.

I'm assuming Mike went to either URichmond or VCU.

I came from a lower middle class family, and I went to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond because (a) it was cheaper and (b) I could live at home (at first) and save money.

I remember visiting W&M a lot though, because I was on the debate team and we would have tournaments down there. It's a really nice school!

McCain/Huckabee too close to call. Not good news for McCain, as isn't this an open primary?

Yep.

The exit poll has him winning by 6%. See if it will hold.

Matters very little for McCain, he'll get the nomination and the party will fall into form behind him.
