...to the Mets to be more specific. 119 Million Dollars for seven years. Wow!

Thought it was 117.
But regardless a lot of money, I don't think he is worth it, but whatever. He doesn't have the big name of an A Rod or someone like that, so I dunno why you pay him like that. Regardless, good for him.
Hope the mets continue to suck. Go Phillies!

I was kinda hoping he would go to the Yankees ( yes, I am a yankees fan), but its no big deal. He has had only one good year anyways.......

From a Yankee fan view, I agree. They shouldn't have spent the money on the Big Unit. Yes, he is a dominant pitcher, but there is so much uncertainty: The league change, his age and so on. But that's the Yankees, they always aim for the short-term improvement. I think the Pavano and Wright deals were much better than the Johnson one... They gave up in Vasquez to quick

I wouldn't say that ...
He plays CF, and is a good CF at that.
He is good for 24-30HR 100RBI 150+hits a .270-.300 average 30-40SB
He is dam good.
He had just as good of a year in 2003, and we wont even get into the postseason.

You do know he has pitched with the Mariners. And was dominant in Interleague Play and the World Series a couple of years ago. League changes for pitchers usually involve adjustments in umpires and the DH. He has seen this before with the Mariners.

Yea, they should have gotten younger pitchers than going after Randy Johnson, whose like 41 isn't he? But he will help for the 1-2 years he plays

Enlighten me of any younger, better pitchers than RJ out on the market that the Yanks had a real shot of getting.

They had a shot at keeping Javier Vasquez. Of course he is not as good as Randy Johnson, but he's not as bad as many say. With the money saved they could have gotten after Beltran. A rotation with Pavano, Wright, Mussina, Vasquez and Brown wouldn't have been that bad, would it?

After Martinez and Beltran they may also pick up Delgado... That would make them good, at on paper and in the eyes of advertising exec and their $$$...
They still can't compete with the Yankees though... Besides NYC is The Yankee town...
