Spidey trailer broke endgame record. Let us see how DS trailer does. That will give some perspective on overall interest. 1st movie opened to 85m but he has been seen in Avenger movies and now NWH. So he is well known. But this does not have the hook that Spidey had with Tobey/Andrew returning.

This continues the story of No Way Home and Wandavision as well, the two hottest Marvel projects since Endgame. Should be able to double the original with all that is going in its favor. Batman might actually be a harder sell than anticipated. People are really turning against billionaires and its not like Bruce did anything to earn his money. There's gonna be a lot of political thinkpieces in early March.

If I were Marvel Studios I'd put the cameo to an X-MEN in the trailer, assuming the leaks are true, cause that would definitely get people's attention and give it's OW a major bump up.

I feel like 175-180m OW for Dr. strange and 130’ for Batman.

Because it’s not a Dark Knight movie, and DC films have not done well lately based off of brand alone.

I don't the difference between the OW would be as big as zwackerm is predicting. I'd say $20m higher for DS and both ending with a much closer total in $300m-$350m range.

130 million for The Batman would be incredible. I'm surprised there isn't a The Batman under The Joker club yet. I'm even tempted at a under Justice League or BB total club.

Dr Strange trailer did just ok. I guess already shown with post credits of NWH skewed the data. I am expecting a SB spot for that movie.

Batman does not need any more trailers. Just do few tv spots during games and we are good to go.

Though I am way more excited for Batman than DS, from BO perspective MCU has the big edge. Especially with rumors around Fassbender and even Hugh Jackman having cameos in DS:MOM.

Yeah Batman was always going to be the big movie of the season and in March. I still cannot see it breaking the March OW record though.

The Batman is only tracking at 80m. That's obviously very conservative, but I don't see it breaking 150m OW at this point,

There is no way Dr Strange opens to 200m. There is not sufficient star power. Patrick Stewart coming back is no where close to Tobey and Andrew coming back for NWH.

That said Marvel has dedicated fan base and so this would be close for sure. Batman will surge close to release. That 80m was not from trades is just ridiculous. Its presales are way ahead of Black Widow(> 2.5x at AMC). I think lowest it opens is around 125m but I feel it will open around 150m at this point.

Civil War opened to 175m, this easily feels as big or bigger.

Also, this will have far more cameos than just Patrick Stewart lol. Not to mention Wanda is Marvel's marquee female character at this point, and should drive a lot of interest among women.

The hype around DS2 is gonna be huge and there will be a rush to see it given all the multiverse stuff that's going to happen. It won't open to NWH's # but hype is gonna be big. Of course Patrick Stewart isn't the only one coming back lol

Looks like Batman is getting a China release. Not confirmed yet but there's a promo clip of the cast saying it's getting a Chinese release and WB has been getting their blockbusters Chinese releases last year so... lol that it seems MCU will never get a Chinese release again.
