 Dec. 30 - Jan. 1 Predictions
Let's just pretend this weekend didn't happen and jump to next one!
I'm expecting huge jumps. Avatar has a chance to make a run for top 3rd weekend of all time but could definitely eek out its predecessor for #2 ($68,490,688).

 Re: Dec. 30 - Jan. 1 Predictions
Avatar hopefully can crack 70m.
It would be cool if Puss in Boots could have a huge increase to like 20m, but 15m would be more reasonable.
Everything else that did low single digits this weekend should do high single digits

 Re: Dec. 30 - Jan. 1 Predictions
Actuals for Avatar 2 came in much higher than estimates. The nationwide winter storm probably negated what....... $10-$20M from what it would have gotten? And it still held up well.
$600M here we come.... It could match Titanic's original unadjusted. And that's just domestic. WW is what will ultimately decide if we get an Avatar 4 and Avatar 5. I'm sure Cameron is immensely grateful for the China release. That will boost its WW totals even more.

 Re: Dec. 30 - Jan. 1 Predictions
I hope there is another $20 million in Wakanda Forever's tank, but I don't hold out much hope. I have it and Violent Night in my draft, and I was estimating that I'd get about another $20 million from them combined. I feel after New Year's Day it will plummet.
But I share your hope re: The Whale. I have a feeling it will slow-burn its way to a $25 million or more gross.

Yeah it will probably hold better. Let's see how quickly it holds on to it's audience but the lack of big competition helps.

 Re: Dec. 30 - Jan. 1 Predictions
Puss has been holding well over the week and could be at $70M by the end of the 4day weekend. It would be at a 5.63 multiplier from its $12.4M 3day opening already. If it holds well and gets another strong bump MLK weekend it could have a shot at passing its predecessor but is definitely recovering quickly.
I definitely see $120M right now since it would just edge out Lightyear. Feel DW wouldn't be able to resist getting Puss there if it were that close!

 Re: Dec. 30 - Jan. 1 Predictions
Cool, so WOW is going to have seven consecutive days above $20 million, and it's not its first seven days.

I expected (when I wrote that) that it would finish a couple of million above $50 million, not a few thousand, lol. But at least it reached the milestone. Good for it. Universal forced it over, lol.
