Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Well Congrats to Texas.
Also wonder if Hamilton hurt his ankle in the 8th when he rolled it and then looked like he was hurting.

Yes!!! Vladdy is going to the World Series!!! Better yet, the Yankees are not!!! I loved the irony here, that A-rod was the last out. Could not have ended better.

Also, does anybody know if Hamilton was the MVP? He deserved to be since he did all the scoring.

Just for that, I am rooting for the NL in the WS. And sorry about last pet peeve about the umpires ball strike f ups but I have been complaining about this all year and for past years. I forget who was up, 2 pitches hit the same exact borderline outside spot and the clueless ump calls, one a strike and one a ball. Like what a smuck. Don't you know what the right call is??? And I will give it to the Texas pitchers, they were smart enough to throw 75 % of there pitches at the corners of the plate.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Okay.
But hey, Texas is now the third to last team to win a pennant (the Mariners and Nats remain the only teams without one). Well, this series taught us that the farm wins over money (in fact, the Rangers are the biggest in debt among all teams). Hopefully this World Series revenue can finally pay off A-rod (since they still owe him money).

Sorry to disagree but there were like 4 hitters who hit all series. The SS, the 3B, Cruz, Hamilton, etc. Which is why I said earleir, I wanted Tampa. The Texas hitters scared me. Anyway, Lewis should have won the award as he stopped the Yankees in Game 2 with the Yankees up 1 and then tonight to save Lee from a Game 7. As a matter of fact, he won 2 times after a Yankee win. That is HUGE. So I think he should have gotten the award.

Can't think of a better result than Texas ending their drought and the Yankees getting beat at the same time. Score one for the good guys.
Next year's Yankees could have one of the best seasons ever though assuming they get Lee and a big bat.

Even though I love seeing beaten franchises like Texas and San Fran in the finals, this is why baseball is a bad sport. I still think the Yankees and Phillies have better rosters than the Rangers/San Fran. Their players just went cold

Not sure what the hell Howard was looking for in that at-bat. Not a good way to lose.

It shows the team aspect of the sports because it isn't about which team has better players but how they play as a team. I actually love it because we will have either a first time WS or a team will end a 60 year drought.

I actually love it because we will have either a first time WS or a team will end a 60 year drought. I couldn't agree more with you. When a team like the Giants are the underdog to the Phillies (offensively at least, since the Giants did have the lowest staff ERA in the majors), this inspires them to give it their all. This was similar to the Angels/Giants WS, in which the Angels were the underdog to the power of the Giants. It's gives that extra motivation to play better. And yes, this will be a fun World Series to watch, with both teams overdue to win. ESPN will not like this matchup, but who cares about them. As far as the game went, this was one of the more suspenseful endings to a series clincher ever, since the Giants have easily blown it, but survived (most clinching games, like last years, are usually blowouts).

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
I am sure Fox won't be happy thinking the ratings will be down but outside of Philadelphia and NY who would want to see that matchup again? I think ratings would be down anyway as baseball WS ratings has been going down every year except for the 2004 WS which was fluke because of the Red Sox. It would take the Cubs playing in the WS for that to stop.

Screw Fox, it should be the best teams not the teams people will watch, besides As I said the ratings would have sucked if it was Phillies-Yankees again. I will watch the Rangers and Giants I would have never watched the former. There are more Yankee haters out there than Yankee fans. The problem is baseball as Magnus mentioned. It is now #3 sport and the networks are just going to have to live with that.

the ratings wouldn't have sucked. People watch the yankees, love them or hate them. That's why last year was the highest rated world series since 04.
