Re: Tár
This was not particularly interesting. Cate Blanchett's character is not very sympathetic and the story as a whole just was pretentious and not as exciting as it seemed to think

Re: Tár
I had big expectations for this and left a bit disappointed. It was gorgeously made and there were some really intense sequences but it was way too long. At 160 minutes, it could have easily lost 45 minutes and would have been a munch stronger movie. Cate Blanchett is great but I don't feel like this is a career best performance.
It has a lot of interesting things to say about cancel culture and entitlement, but it should have. just been so much shorter.

Re: Tár
Pretty solid post cancel culture movie and complex performance by Blanchett, and doesn't have to spell out for you some things like her hypocrisy. Despite the running time I wasn't bored.

Re: Tár
This movie is a total slog and way too pretentious for its own good. Cate Blanchett and Nina Hoss are both great but they can't elevate the material when there's about twenty minutes of story here stretched to a torturous 2 1/2 hours. C-

Re: Tár
I think I'm in the minority here but I thought it was great. It's supposed to be an egotistical, pretentious film because Tar's narcissism and outcomes are all self-inflected. Agreed it's at least 1 hr too long though it's definitely one of Cate's best of her career. This was not an easy role to pull off.

Re: Tár
Very good, very nice audio-visual combo and Blanchett certainly delivers. Yet, it's also abstract and artsy in ways that don't do much for me. Still it does well in being interesting despite that and is anything but boring, just awards contender is a step too far.
