Home Again attempts to stretch the ROM-COM boundaries a titch, and I appreciated the attempt. It's a very nice movie. Perhaps too nice a movie. One you could take your grandmother to. And the cast is all very nice too - Reese, Candice, et al. An ever so light little confection which airily fades from memory as the end credits roll. *B*

It's a decent enough time waster. It doesn't really end up going anywhere but it's enjoyable in the moment. Reese is great as is Candice Bergen. Of the three guys I easily thought Jon Rudnitsky was the standout - I liked his character the most. Nat Wolff was fine but I found Pico Alexander bland as all hell. I also was disappointed Lake Bell was featured in such a throwaway role. It's a perfect Sunday afternoon kind of movie you'll find yourself charmed by when it airs on cable one day. B-

Holy. Fuck. This was BAD.

It takes every romantic comedy cliche in the book and isn't entertaining in the slightest. The dialogue is terrible (my friends and I will be forever mentioning about how we have IKEA furniture to build) and it's simply dull. The romantic interest here is terrible and he can't act his way out of a paper box and Reese looks bored as hell. An extreme misfire.

I highly enjoyed this. Reese is really good as usual and I liked all of the guys. Though Pico Alexander was mostly just because he's so pretty :P. Jon Rudnitsky was the best of the guys. Was kind of hoping him and Reese's character would get together.

Anyway, it's just an old-fashioned rom com and I thought it was fine escapism.

7/10 ( B )
