Sherlock: The Abominal Bride
Sherlock: The Abominal BrideQuote: "The Abominable Bride" is a special episode of the British television programme Sherlock. The episode was broadcast on BBC One and BBC One HD on 1 January 2016. It shows the characters in Victorian London for the first time in the series. The title is based on the quote ("Ricoletti of the club foot and his abominable wife") from "The Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual", which refers to a case mentioned by Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride
I haven't watched a single Sherlock episode, but I went to see this TV special/feature-length episode, and it was ok. Not bad. I enjoyed Martin Freeman's Dr. Watson, and I very much enjoyed seeing my home city of Bath up on the big screen (it wasn't a surprise as I follow Bath news closely and knew they had filmed there), but Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock was fairly annoying. There's something about the know-it-all that isn't a good attitude for this actor. The film was pretty strange and kept going from a present that I felt fans of the show would understand to a Victorian-era that was (I think) solely for this special. And while the "Abominable Bride" is a good story (and very relevant in terms of today's pro-vagina agenda), it did not focus on the details of a case - it was simply lots of bull about who Sherlock is and then Sherlock just tells us the answer.
C+

I enjoyed the "Making Of" afterwards, though.

Re: Sherlock: The Abominal Bride
I mean, if we have people here who see them theatrically, why not?
You guys won't assign mods to this forum anyway, so who gives a shit.

C+ This was absolutely the WORST episode to be your first for this show. I can totally understand your rating because you had zero experience with the show before this. As someone who has seen all three seasons, I very much loved this episode and give it somewhere between an A- and an A.
