 Re: Ouija (2014)
This was pretty terrible. That being said, it was well shot and there were a couple fun scenes. It really had no idea what to do with the scenes where they weren't playing with the Ouija Board and it was incredibly boring. It also had one of the worst "twists" I've ever seen. It made the rest of the movie make zero sense.

OUIJA
First, I'm not a big fan Olivia Cooke. She has this accent but she busts out her American accent for films usually. I just don't get her. Second, I thought the film was okay. It was nothing special. The story was pretty blah. Another house haunted by a dead family from the past. I think they might have done better going with a more demonic apparition instead of child ghosts. The film lacked scares and threw in that ritualistic line when playing the Ouija board which was distracting. This was a missed opportunity.

 Re: Ouija (2014)
Nothing special, but not as awful as many others said, in my opinion. It lifts a lot from Ringu/The Ring, at times bearing an almost beat-for-beat resemblance in the way the story unfolds, and it pales in comparison, but it never bored me and has a couple well-crafted jolts. And Olivia Cooke is sexy.

 Re: Ouija (2014)
I am a fan of Olivia Cooke and she does her best. But this was a bore. And I agree with David it's very reminiscent of The Ring in how it unfolds, though obviously it's of a much lower quality. Not scary in the least.

1/2 / *****
I only watched this because I was intrigued by the sequel's RT/Metacritic score and wanted to see for myself if this really is one of the biggest 180° turnarounds for a sequel ever. And it is. This is barely a movie.
