There's Something About Mary
There's Something About MaryQuote: There's Something About Mary is a 1998 American comedy film, directed by the Farrelly brothers, Bobby and Peter. It stars Cameron Diaz, Matt Dillon and Ben Stiller, it is a combination of romantic comedy and gross-out film.
The film was placed 27th in the American Film Institute's 100 Years, 100 Laughs: America's Funniest Movies (see the 100 Years Series), a list of the 100 funniest movies of the 20th century. In 2000, readers of Total Film magazine voted it the 4th greatest comedy film of all time. Cameron Diaz won a New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress, an MTV Movie Award for Best Performance, an American Comedy Award for Best Actress, a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Best Actress, she also received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance (but lost to Gwyneth Paltrow). The 2005 Bollywood film, Deewane Huye Paagal was inspired by this film.

Extremely funny. Definently one of Ben Stiller's best performances.

You'll laugh your ass off when you see it for the first time. But I have never seen a comedy that wears out so quickly. When you see it the second time you wonder why you thought it was so funny. There are only a few jokes that hold up. So if you had asked me after the first viewing I had given it a B+, but now after the third time I have to lower that to (C+)

Definitly one of the funniest movies ever, and it's actually improved with repeated viewings for me.

The Farrelly Brothers Last great film after Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin, has great jokes and good performances all around, the first raunchy R rated comedy and it still holds up well. B+

It's the Farrely's second best film behind Dumb and Dumber. It doesn't quite match the comic genius of the D&D, but it comes close in a couple of scenes.

Slightly overated but still good but nowhere in the league of dumb and dumber and Kingpin. As always its a very sweet movie and why is that one actress always has to play these butt ugly roles like the land lady and Diaz's elderly roomate. There are quite a few funny scenes but nowhere as many as Dumb & Dumber and Kingpin

Absolutely uproarious. I still remember seeing this in a packed crowd the first time it came out and how hysterically everyone laughed, and it was about then I knew it was going to be a big sleeper. A-

Re: There's Something About Mary
Very funny, but beyond the laugh ratio it just works really well as a feel-good movie. One thing that I think elevates this above anything Stiller has done since is that films since Mary have tried too hard to have him be endlessly humiliated and embarrased. He just came off as a schlamiel, but here just about everyone had something pretty nasty happen to them so it felt a lot more even handed. It's just very likable overall.

It's no Kingpin, but still good.
