 Re: The Kings of Summer
Has a strange tone for the first half hour or so, and the humor feels off most of the time but it's a decent coming-of-age flick. The two teenage leads were very good.
The R rating is ridiculous, btw.

 Re: The Kings of Summer
A decent and charming film. It does not stand up to the best pictures in this coming-of-age summer-vacation vein (Moonrise Kingdom, Stand by Me), films from which it lifts and copies at times, but there are several hilarious one-liners and comic set pieces, and the complexities and strains of the teenage friendships at the center of the storyline are authentic and touching. The absurd character of Biaggio is a contrived sidekick through and through, yet still steals scenes.

 Re: The Kings of Summer
Everyone is fine acting-wise but it's very typical for the type of film it is and doesn't really set itself apart from the pack.
