Forever Young
A delightful film. It especially resonated with me when Elijah Wood liked Mel Gibson a lot, he saw him as the cool father that he never had, even just for the few days they were together. He wanted to help him cook, he bought him a flight jacket...really touching. I never saw my dad growing up, and so I can associate with that theme. The film is one great journey. I loved the 1939 scenes just as much as the modern day scenes. The scene where Mel kicks ass and saves Lee Curtis from her ex-boyfriend, man I loved that.
I just watched this recently thinking that I'd never seen it before. But I had. How I forgot that I viewed this is beyond me. Now to watch The Man Without A Face...

 Re: Forever Young
This and Maverick are probably Gibson's most underrated films, he's really great in both. Love this movie as well A

 Re: Forever Young
Is Maverick underrated? Whenever anybody mentions it, it's always followed with praise. If it is rated low, then it's definitely underrated because it's fantastic. In fact, Gibson probably had one of the best runs in Hollywood history from Air America all the way until Apocalypto; just great films one after another.

One of my childhood faves. Oh, those were good times for Gibson.
