 Jack Reacher
Jack Reacher Quote: Jack Reacher (previously titled One Shot) is a 2012 American crime film. It is a adaptation of Lee Child's 2005 novel One Shot. Written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film stars Tom Cruise as the title character. The film entered production in October 2011, and concluded in January 2012. It was filmed entirely on location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Jack Reacher's US premiere gala, scheduled for December 15, was delayed after a school shooting on December 14. The film was released in North America on December 21, and in the United Kingdom on December 26, 2012.

 Re: Jack Reacher
Too right I am! I was even nervous to check this thread when I saw it had 1 reply - I don't want to read spoilers. So, I slowly scrolled down the page and saw my username mentioned, phew.
It looks great, as does Cruise's next 2-3 year slate.

Thanks a lot, Darth. I'm not even sure when I will get to see it. It comes out in China, well, it's not confirmed yet, but if it does, it will be in March or so I expect. Might have to go to Hong Kong to see next week or whenever it's out there.

 Re: Jack Reacher
JACK REACHER
I got to see this at a screening last week and am going to see it again this week and probably again. I really liked this film. I enjoyed the storyline and Tom's character. Everyone else is pretty flimsy but not uninteresting. The opening was a disturbing sequence that's almost to real. But the main reason the film works is the coolness of the Jack Reacher character and how he goes about conducting his business and his investigation. The film is slow in the beginning but never boring for me and really picks up when he gets in the bar fight. The finale is exciting, funny and fulfilling.
Grade - A

It's ridiculous that I had to sign an NDA for it considering that reviews are out already.

 Re: Jack Reacher
I can't believe this is actually getting good reviews. The marketing has been AWFUL. It's literally the only December release that I don't plan on ever seeing.

 Re: Jack Reacher
This is a fantastic made-in-America action and suspense film and one of the best of the year in general. It is clever, intense, old-fashioned, crafted and performed with great care, and even disquieting and moving at important moments. I have a longstanding respect for Tom Cruise, and this is a prime example of why. In a true Cruise vehicle (he serves both as an actor and as a co-producer here), there is a sense of dedication and perfection. The right director and script, of course. The sense no shot or stunt is finalized until it has reached its full potential. A crowd pleasing studio picture, but with grit and soul; not just a disposable product. Each of these is true here. From its downright disturbing opening sequence (which, with its focus on an urban sniper, may upset viewers in light of recent tragic events, but also cannot be denied as one of the best crafted sequences of suspense and violence of the year), through a car chase to rival the best ever committed to the film, and then to its sound and surprising conclusion, this ace film amuses, electrifies, teases, and satisfies the way an action film should. Cruise is at his most magnetic and physical in the lead role, a unique protagonist (an "analog character in a digital world," as Cruise himself describes him) I hope he can revive in future films, and the rest of the cast lend the star colorful and considerable aid. Find the time this holiday season to experience this. Cruise delivers beyond belief.

I still don't want to see it. I just can't get past the HORRIBLE trailers or TV spots.
