Can't Hardly Wait
Can't Hardly WaitQuote: Can't Hardly Wait is a 1998 American teen comedy film written and directed by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont. It stars Ethan Embry, Charlie Korsmo, Lauren Ambrose, Peter Facinelli, Seth Green, and Jennifer Love Hewitt, and is notable for a number of "before-they-were-famous" appearances by various teen stars of the era.
The movie takes place at a high school graduation party, and in a style much like that of the high school movies of the 1980s. The filmmakers were inspired to make the movie because they felt that in most teen films the best scenes were the party scenes. Therefore, they decided to make a movie that was set entirely at a party. Though the film deals in common high school stereotypes, some favor the film's chaotic but appealing mise en scène and performances.
The movie was named after The Replacements' song of the same title, from their 1987 album Pleased to Meet Me. The song plays at the end of the movie, when the credits start rolling.
This movie ranked number 44 on Entertainment Weekly's list of the 50 Best High School Movies. I think this movie is really underrated. It was one of the better teen movies of the '90s. B+

I'd give it around a C+ too.
It's certaintly funny, but it doesn't have the same charm that some of the grosser movies (American Beauty, Old School) have.

I liked this movie it captured the teenage scene of the time well. It reminds me of the old 80s John Hughes movies but its set in the 90s which is cool.

I thought it was pretty good. A lot smarter than some of the other films of its ilk, and it seems to have an ironic, self-mocking attitude for a good chunk of it. It's pretty funny and the vast ensemble cast is really quite amazing. So many recognizable faces and names. The main romantic plot is fairly corny, but still endearing, and the characters are colourful and enjoyable. A worthy addition to the teen graduation sub-genre.

Re: Can't Hardly Wait
Good characters, though when the "Cheetaahhhh, Grrrr" guy has only two lines that almost steal the movie, you can't give it a great grade. It's funny, and the setup and stories are good, but all and all I've seen better similiar things.

Yeah, it's definitely one of the more rewatchable movies of the '90s. I usually end up watching all of it when it's on TV. And some scenes are still pretty funny. I want to know what is in the fridge!

Re: Can't Hardly Wait
This movie came out in theaters the same day I graduated from high school so it holds a special place in my heart. It's still funny too.
