What Dreams May Come
What Dreams May ComeQuote: What Dreams May Come is a 1998 American supernatural drama film, starring Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Annabella Sciorra. The film is based on the 1978 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson, and was directed by Vincent Ward. The title is taken from a line in Hamlet's To be, or not to be soliloquy. Ew. I hated this movie. Looked good (I guess...), but so boring. D

Saw it the first time yesterday on TV, and maybe i was in the right mood, but I enjoyed it. Tough the movie is nearly the whole time really cheesy, but oh well. It has some fantastic visuals and Williams performance isn't bad either. B

Wasn't bad I guess. Visuals were striking, but at the same time a bit fruity. Storyline was pretty lame.

A boring, predictable film unredeemed by average performances.

Astonishingly beautiful visuals are countered with one of the most boring films I can remember watching. D+

Plus Points
Fuck I'm in trouble here....................well Robin Williams was in Good Morning Vietnam so thats cool and Cuba Gooding Jr.....................he had a career once.
Minus Points
Jesus where to start, well even by the standards of 90s Williams this really reaches new levels of cheese
The insanely stupid colour explosion that burns your eyes and makes you wish for death.
The overwhelming tide of saccarine crap in wallows in, I guarantee you need the bucket at least twice before the end.
And that bloody ending, he's his father!!!!!!! for crying out loud..........well at least i didn't drown in the cheese that wouldN'T have been great
Overall F

I saw this when I was little, and I can honestly remember it changing my outlook on life and death.
(Gimme a break, I was... 10, or something.)
I haven't seen it in a while, so I don't know, but it's still a nostalgic pick for me.

Striking visuals but booooring as hell. It's one of the most dreadful movie experience I had in a theater, right along with "Meet Joe Black" and "Legends of the Fall" D-

Since everyone is praising the visuals, thought I'd mention that the cinematographer on this is also the one on Blood Diamond, opening soon.

Lush and rather lovely interpretation of the after life. I can see why it's not popular here at KJ - a cynic could have a field day shooting down the film's earnest soulful attitude about such a profound matter. Personally I found it to be a pleasant and romantic fantasy that showcases why Robin Williams will always be an underrated dramatic actor.

People on this site are too fucking cynical for their own damn good and perhaps need to find religion ar some point in their lives.. People who didn't at least appreciate what was being done in this movie flat out have no souls and just suck in general..
