The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 Quote: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, commonly referred to as Breaking Dawn, is a 2011/2012 two-part romantic fantasy film directed by Bill Condon and based on the novel Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. The two parts form the fourth and final installment in the The Twilight Saga series. All three main cast members, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprise their roles.
Part 1, rated PG-13, was released on November 18, 2011, and Part 2 will be released on November 16, 2012. In totals as of November 21st, the movie has grossed $291,022,261 worldwide. However, the film has received mostly negative reviews from critics.
Wyck Godfrey and Karen Rosenfelt served as executive producers for the film, along with the author of the series, Stephenie Meyer; the screenplay was written by Melissa Rosenberg, the screenwriter of the first three entries.

Re: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
I thought it was really enjoyable and one of the best of the series, which is surprising because I really wasn't a fan of the book. It's a lot of fun and surprisingly enough, Kristen Stewart out acts everyone. She's great in this. Also, I adored Anna Kendrick in her role, I always wished Bella's friends characters were bigger when I was reading the book. I loved her toast, it was hysterical. I'm really surprised about all of the hype with the sex scenes though, they were exactly like the book (AKA, kiss kiss, bed breaks, cut to black). Nothing graphic at all in that department. The birth scene was great and intense, loved how they filmed it and it ended on the perfect note. I can't believe we have to wait an entire year for Part 2, they really should release it in the summer.
8/10

Re: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
Surprisingly I thought it was the best of the sequels. It's not without its hokeyness, like a certain imprinting scene, but it gets enough right to overlook that. It was nice to see the series return back to its romantic roots. That was what I loved about the first and found the romance really sweet and involving. But the second and third had none of that spark. I'm more a fan of the romance aspect than the action aspect, so I was totally fine with "Breaking Dawn: Part I" being mostly action free. I didn't think it was as romantic as the first, maybe due to the second and third making me less involved in the romance, but it was the most enjoyable it has been since "Twilight."
Really liked where it ended too. I haven't read the books but it seemed like the perfect spot.

The imprinting scene was even more ridiculous in the book. I thought it was done decently in the movie.

Well I didn't read the books, and if they had to do it I'm sure it could have been worse, but that doesn't mean it isn't snicker-worthy .

Good movie. The birth and transformation was done really well. People were on the edge of there seats at the last 5 mins. There will be a huge disconnect between critics and fans for this film.

Yeah, because the fans don't care about quality.

Sure it's extremely melodramatic--with Jacob dropping to his knees--but the Twilight movies are in general, so it's of a piece. Everything is heightened and passionate and goofy.

Re: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
I might see this with my friend on Tuesday again because she really wants to see it. I still think it may be the best Twilight flick (though I was actually watching the first on TV a few days ago, and I fell in love with it all over again) and if it's not the best, it's damn close. Eclipse is the only one that disappointed me.

Nothing of relevance happens in this movie for the first 100 minutes. It's not even very funny after the first 45, just dull.

God it's cheesy and it screams to be rated R in so many places, but gosh darn it I loved it! B+

Re: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
While the other films were somewhat decent, this one just falls apart and is a complete mess. Makes me wonder what Part 2 is even about as its teaser also gave the look of nothingness this film became. *

Re: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
Totally WTF. Though the birth scene is at least somewhat fascinating.
