Sadly, this sequel is only a shadow of the brilliant
original, suffering from a lame script for the first two-thirds of it's running time. Fortunately it finishes very strong, and of course it's a joy to watch the extraordinary talent of Rowan Atkinson throughout. Rosamund Pike is a real highlight here and it's always freaky to see what Gillian Anderson currently looks like. Even with the weak writing, it's a better James Bond movie than the last two dour entries in the official series, though it goes without saying that it's not suitable for the unsophisticated comedy tastes of American audiences.
