 Sin City
Sin City Quote: Sin City, also known as Frank Miller's Sin City, is a 2005 crime thriller film written, produced and directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez. It is a neo-noir based on Miller's graphic novel series of the same name.
The film is primarily based on three of Miller's works: The Hard Goodbye, about a man who embarks on a brutal rampage in search of his one-time sweetheart's killer; The Big Fat Kill, which focuses on a street war between a group of prostitutes and a group of mercenaries; and That Yellow Bastard, which follows an aging police officer who protects a young woman from a grotesquely disfigured serial killer. The film stars Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Benicio del Toro, Brittany Murphy, Elijah Wood, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Carla Gugino, Michael Madsen and Nick Stahl, among others.
Sin City opened to wide critical and commercial success, gathering particular recognition for the film's unique color processing, which rendered most of the film in black and white but retained or added coloring for select objects. The film was screened at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival in-competition and won the Technical Grand Prize for the film's "visual shaping".

The movie is aces, boys and girls! :2up: Awesome characters! Gorgeous women! Terrific visual style! Plenty of action and humor to go around. Frank Miller's stamp was defdinitely all over this picture.

Well, I'll make it brief since I haven't had much sleep cause I went and saw this at 11:40 AM this morning, but it was Ok.. Simply Ok and I think alot of the problem I had with it was while the visuals were very stylish looking with the grays and other streaks of colors mixed in, it grew boring after around 45 Minutes and I kind of lost interest... I'd say Bruce Willis character's story was probably the best and the others were just Ok... I'd rate the violence factor up there with KILL BILL Vol 1, but KILL BILL impressed me alot more and made me have a whole new respect for female superheros like The Bride.. I'll give SIN CITY this much: It was one of the better comic to screen adaptation, at least on par with Spiderman, but While I don't think it's actually necessary that you have to read the comic SIN CITY to understand this movie, it does help.. One other thing that sort of shocked me was seeing a Mother bringing her 2 small children to this.. This definitely isn't a movie for small kids you dumb bitch...
Overall Grade: C

You know, that's true!! It almost always amazes me when parents bring their little ones to an adult themed flick. Get a child sitter or wait to watch the movie at a more convenient time when you don't have to subject your children to things that may rupture their developing psyche. Then we wonder why many of the youth today are so mental. *sigh*

Why do you say that?? I loved SPIDERMAN and it's sequel and even though I compare SIN CITY to the 2 as far as quality translated to the screen, SIN CITY was far over the top violent obviously than SPIDERMAN and I think this movie and comic is an acquired taste.. The critics might praise this or hate it like the reviews suggest, but this is a movie that is clearly not for everyone, including SMALL CHILDREN like that dumb bitch brought to this..

Um...you said it is on par with Spider-Man as far as comic book adaptations go and you give it a C. A C is not a good grade, so I logically followed that you gave around the same grade to Spider-Man.
By the way, as it is obvious that Sin City won't drop under 60% at RT, can I dictate your sig?

There is nothing wrong with a Grade of "C" for SIN CITY and my comparing this to SPIDERMAN was out of the Quality translated to the screen, not the content of the story which is obviously an acquired taste.. Your either going to like SIN CITY or Hate it as the review suggest.. Also, Maverikk gets signature crack 1st..
