 Heartbreakers
Heartbreakers Quote: Heartbreakers is a 2001 caper-romantic comedy film directed by David Mirkin. It stars Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ray Liotta, Jason Lee, and Gene Hackman. Weaver was nominated for a Golden Satellite Award for her performance in the film. The plot revolves around an elaborate con set up by a mother-daughter team to swindle wealthy men out of their money, and what happens during their "last" con together.
This film is written by Robert Dunn, Paul Guay and Stephen Mazur. It was the third collaboration by Guay and Mazur, whose previous comedies were The Little Rascals and Liar Liar.

I love this movie. It's not a... fantastic film but it's a big guilty pleasure.

Sure I have time. I don't really sleep too much anyway. Expect a mini review for both by morning. :gaz:

I am very sorry I didn't get to this sooner. I saw all but a half hour of it before I was just too tired to stay awake anymore, and then I had a fantasy baseball draft in the late morning, and then I had work to do, and I've just finished watching the last half hour, and I'm glad I did, because for me, it was my favorite part.
Heartbreakers is a very surprisingly good film. I liked the premise about the mother/daughter con artist team, and the capers were quite hilarious throughout the movie. As I was watching it, I really liked it, but it could never quite get into A grade territory. That was until the last 30 minutes, when everything came together so nicely. The first great thing, was hearing one of my favorite love songs ever written and recorded, John Lennon's "Oh My Love". It hit it for me. The other great thing was Ray Liotta coming back to the forefront...lol When Jack's mom started asking him questions about himself, and he said "what are you, a $#%@& cop?", it was just too funny, and to see him at the very end playing his part in a new con against Barbara was a hoot as well. I also liked the always excellent Gene Hackman.
Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt were both great in this, and I guess it's just another one of those movies that makes you scratch your head wondering why nobody really noticed.

 Re: Heartbreakers
Most of it is pretty lame. JLH is great to look at and Ray Liotta seems to be having a blast, but a lot of the humour falls flat. I laughed more than I thought I would, but not enough to recommend it.

A- Yup - - way under-rated. Very clever screenplay, and the two female leads were indeed great...

 Re: Heartbreakers
Like said, its almost like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for women. I think its clever, and funny throughout. Gene and Ray are awesome in their smaller roles, but Sigourney and JLH hold there own and have a great chemistry together. Jason Lee is the only real misfire who doesnt get to really use any of his talents. Apart from that A- from me. Ray Liota was hysterical though.

 Re: Heartbreakers
I remember laughing hysterically at the cinema when I saw this. I can't believe the beating it got from critics though.

 Re: Heartbreakers
This was just on TV. B+. Seriously one of the most enjoyable movies ever. Has two big things going for it: JLH's breats. Holy, shit. In her prime(and even out of it) she is a knock out. Signorney's accent is hilarious.
