Quote:
Germany Year Zero (Italian: Germania anno zero) is a 1948 film directed by Roberto Rossellini. It is the final film in Rossellini's war film trilogy (the first two being Rome, Open City and Paisà). Germany Year Zero takes place in post-war Germany, unlike the others, which take place in German-occupied Rome and post-war Italy, respectively. As in many neorealist films, Rossellini used mainly local, non-professional actors. He filmed on locations in Berlin and intended to convey the reality in Germany the year after its near total destruction in World War II. It contains dramatic images of bombed out Berlin and of the human struggle for survival following the destruction of the Third Reich. When explaining his ideas about realism in an interview, he said, "realism is nothing other than the artistic form of the truth" (Rossellini 35).

Besonders zu empfehlen mit schriller deutscher Glasjungenstimme.

Argos: "Particularly recommended with shrill German glas boy voice."

I actually got bestes werk. I'd love to learn German. I have a crazy lesbian German aunt who always teaches me words when we see each other. Through my childhood I used to call my Grandparents oma and opa.

I waited years for Rossellini's was trilogy to become available and after finally seeing the 3 movies I gotta say Roma and this one are the standouts, with Roma being better by a nanometer.

I fuckin hate Roma,... at least Luis Bunuel shares my opinion: he's as disgusted by Roma as i am.

Do you know the word "Badewannenstoepsel", junio? I onced teached it to some Pakistani kids while I was hanging around at the Hyde Park.
