 Frozen (2010)
Frozen Quote: Frozen is a 2010 American thriller film directed by Adam Green and stars Emma Bell, Kevin Zegers and Shawn Ashmore as a group of three skiers who are stranded on a chairlift and forced to make life-or-death choices that prove more perilous than staying put and freezing to death.

Frozen was a great example of the "it-could-actually-happen" horror genre (like Open Water and Hostel). No supernatural nonsense needed for a good scare - - this is what I call a horror movie! Too bad no one went to see it.

 Re: Frozen
I saw this theatrically when it was released back in February. It's a solid, creepy little thriller. B

 Re: Frozen
It does far more with its concept than I would've thought possible.
Definitely deserving of a watch, especially for anyone who's been stuck on a chairlift (if only for a couple minutes) before.

FROZEN - 8/10 (A-)
I thought it was great. Wish I could have seen it on the big screen as it would have been even more absorbing without distractions, but it never opened here. Regardless, an excellent thriller. Looking forward to watching it in the winter in my cold bedroom (my room is the hottest in the house in the summer, and the coldest in the winter) and on Blu-ray. This time I watched it on DVD, but I'm going to buy it on Blu-ray this week.
Anyway, I'm never going on a chairlift again.

 Re: Frozen
Frozen is a chilling and haunting film that definitely gives a real feel to the "what if" scenario. The plot is pretty basic, three friends stuck on a ski lift and try to survive. The scenarios they face, even if there something as simple as frostbite, are portrayed in a very chilling and frightening light. The film is definitely edge of the seat at times but it loses a lot of its creativity when wolves are put into the picture. Nonetheless, it is a satisfying thriller that could of used extra exposure in theaters. **1/2

 Re: Frozen
A compact, engaging suspense film, complete with strong performances and a palpable sense of isolation. I thought the wolves, though menacing at first, were a bit over-utilized, but it is not a huge issue in an otherwise fine film.

That was one little mostly effective survival flick. The premise is very minimalistic, but the director gets a lot out of it.
The wolves...yeah the wolves kinda hurt this thing. I mean it might seem that without the wolves there is not much that could have been done with the film's concept, but I beg to differ. The wolves just bring in an unnecessary menace into a a film that was doing just fine simply with its concept of three people stuck on a chairlift in the middle of the night in freezing cold. We really could have done without the wolves.
I think what works well in the film are the characters. Of course there are some silly decisions they make, but I still found myself rooting for them. The dialogues are surprisingly not cringe-worthy either. Despite not much happening when they just become stuck on the chairlift the tension still keeps rising and becomes quite palpable. It almost hurt watching the guy jumping and breaking his legs. That scene alone was much more effective in shocking the audiences than most of the stuff seen in Saw films nowadays.
Of course the film's plot often relies heavily on coincidences and sheer luck, but I suppose the film wouldn't have worked without that. It's a tense little film that will have its solid place in the genre.

 Re: Frozen
Great worst-case scenario movie. I thought the wolves worked well. The conversation about what would be the worst way to die was chilling, especially with the guy's description of the shark death. I'm sure he thinks otherwise now. I think it was a nice element - they either die of cold stuck so high up, or either fall or climb off severely injuring and putting you at risk in the wild.
I think I would have used that ski stick to get to the ladder on the pole, much like a zipline. It wouldn't have been flawless, you would kind of have to "hop" it down, but it still would have been better than the glove thing.... ew. Anyways, this was a great little movie.

 Re: Frozen
It definitely wasn't awful. In fact, it was pretty good and very entertaining. Not great art or anything but a decent time waster.
